My Nephew is looking to come to Laramie!

He's been asking me about my time in Laramie from an academic point of view. He is interested in Engineering, but also wants to play football. He is currently a sophomore at Billings Senior in Montana. Plays T / DT. Currently listed at around 6'2" 230 and growing. (He's closer to 6'3/6'4" when I saw him in Feb.) He told me that he is going to camps in Laramie this summer, so....I hope he follows his uncle's footstep in choosing UW! (I tried walking on during the Koenning era because it was sooooo bad, that I had to be a little bit of an improvement) This has nothing to do with anything today, just a hopeful uncle

Would be very cool for you if he chooses UW, even if he doesn't end up playing football.

Has he been to Laramie before? I know Billings isn't exactly paradise, but Laramie definitely isn't for everyone.

My kids were all born and raised in Texas, but my oldest daughter wanted to go visit some schools in Colorado in the fall of her senior year. I talked her into also visiting UW since we were going to be close by. We visited UC Boulder and Colorado of School of Mines on Thursday and Friday and the weather was beautiful - sunny and high's in the 70's. Coming from Texas where it was still regularly getting into the 90's, it felt like heaven. We drove up to Laramie on Saturday and it was like 40 degrees with 30mph winds. I could tell UW was pretty much out of the running for her at that point. She ended up choosing to go to a school here in Texas, but that memory always makes me laugh.

My daughter was born and raised in the suburbs of Phoenix. She is going to be a senior at UW next year and she loves it there. One of her high school classmates even transferred to Wyo this year. We always talk about Laramie weather, but it’s actually been pretty mild recently. She has yet to experience a snow game in the War!

He went to the wrong school in Billings for Wyoming alumni, lol. I teach at West High in Billings and our science dept. has four teachers who all went to UW. It is all brown and gold in our hallway. We were all geology majors though not engineering.
