This was my initial assessment of this recruiting class........
Took a quick glance at the recruiting class and read some of the bio's. My initial thought was seeing a class that needed a LOT of development, and looking at who was also recruiting them told me others agree with that assessment. There were 19 signees, and earlier it was mentioned that the class would be anywhere from 19 to 21 most likely. It looks at this point that a couple of kids maybe changed their minds. From the season UW had I think it was lucky that we kept this many from going elsewhere, but in looking at who was also recruiting these kids then it was easy to understand why many of them chose UW.
The Hasselbeck kid was interesting, but when you see a 6' 190 LB you go that kid might have athleticism and he might have speed, but he isn't going to see the field until he spends a lot of time in the weight room.
I looked at the OL that Sawvel was touting in the presser the other day, and I was scratching my head about this class. He spoke about how he had several above 6'-6" or there abouts. I saw only one kid and he was also recruited by Air Force. A thin young man at this point but will be one of those guys that will need to spend a great deal of time in the weight room. Not one of this class do I see making an impact like some of the kids from the last class at places like the RB position.
If there is any help in this class for next season I didn't see it. I am thinking that the only help for next season will come from the Transfer Portal, and that won't be until January.
