Odds of Sawful...

No direct knowledge of the situation but I am guessing Bohl lobbied hard for Sawful and Junior to be promoted. Burman probably didn’t have the balls to say no.
I don't either but with how bad this has gone and TB had a few years to evaluate pbj, I just don't see any other alternative that makes sense. Add in the ridiculous contract and the whole thing stinks way too much to just be a blunder.

He didn't count on Sawful being so terrible. Big mistake. Big.

I honestly believe that when Bohl was stepping down they came to the agreement to hire pbj and promote junior. In return, Bohl Senior would continue in an unofficial advisory role to smooth the transition ensuring continued success which is how he sold it to Burman.

That never works but I'm guessing that's how it went down.

I have always felt that was the case with Shyatt to Edwards and eventually Shyatt jr.

HAHAHAHAHA...sorry I'm having trouble breathing from laughing so hard! Money isn't everything??!!! Are you kidding me?? Have you seen the path college football is on the past several years?!?! In today's college sports, money is EVERYTHING and the ONLY THING and anyone who thinks otherwise is already years behind.
Just earn, baby.

They are afraid of the buyout, but if we start off 0-4 next season then we might see movement, God i hope it don't get that bad! Sawvel might treat this game to Hawaii as a mini vacation as will most mentally checked out players!

Our 2026 schedule includes the likes of Central Michigan, UNC (NoCo), and CSU. UConn hit in November. If we are 0-4, they will have to fire Sawful - and we will have another wasted year.

you have far more faith in TB's ability to scheme up things than I do. I think you are vastly underrating his Blunder ability. hehe.

Overall, the hire itself was the lazy way out in my opinion. Had Burman just opened it, done a search, and actually had interviews, there probably wouldn’t be as much animosity towards Sawvel. A transparent process was all that was missing. If he would have been the hands down guy picked by a hiring committee with players on it, I don’t think it would be where we are now. In fact, Burman had better be hoping to high heaven that Sunny works out, because he did the same thing there. I never want to see any coach fail at UW, but I believe that the AD is responsible for setting them up for success, not hoping against failure. He put a lot of pressure on a guy with no head coaching experience in the one sport that captures all fan attention. I’m sure if we could all ask Jay if he likes the position he’s in he’d say he’s not comfortable. But he’d be a fool to step down, or agree to an amendment on his contract. That’s money he’s due. It’s not his fault Burman signed him to a 5 year deal. For all of the public criticism and terrible things people say about him as a coach, he deserves every dime. While the team hasn’t performed up to our standards as fans, he also is not satisfied and has said as much.

Bullsh!t, comes with the territory. You act like he is being picked on when the truth is he sucks as a head coach. Criticism is warranted and you don't get rewarded for it.
