How about them Lobos!!!

An absolute melt down in the 4th quarter by New Mexico. Two missed field goals, two dropped passes that would have extended drives, and gave up a 95 yard touchdown run. An unbelievable turn of events...almost as if the Lobos were trying to lose.

Does anyone remember the opening line for this game? MSU was favored by 4.5. Final score: MSU 35, NM 31. And sports bettors wonder why they can never get ahead.

Says it’s 47 in Reno currently. what the heck?? So cold
Reno falls in a cold semi-arid climate zone. Those are known for pretty significant swings in temperature from day to night.

In the summer, it isn’t uncommon for it to reach into the 90’s during the day and be down into the 50’s within just a couple hours of sundown.

Box score looks crazy for such a close game. Montana St. had nearly 600 yards of offense and ran 25 more plays than New Mexico. The Lobos barely had 300 yards of offense.

I might have initially given New Mexico a little too much credit. I didn't watch the game. I think they scored 2 TDs off fumbles. Most of the stats were fairly lopsided in Montanas favor.

They covered so I'm happy. If they win 3+ I'm also happy. If not, they're break even due to today.

As a WYO fan, I try to not laugh at any conference mate sans csu. Have we lost to worse unm teams? Guessing no but there's been some head scratchers against them.

I generally don't talk smack about a team until after we play them. Watched us lose to terrible UNM and SJSU teams one too many times.

I was mildly intoxicated last night at a local watering hole and smashed the UNM money line... that bet looked like a winner... until it wasn't. POS Lobos. lol 😂🤣

Not to be outdone, Nevada also choked away what would have been an impressive upset of SMU.

Up by 11 with 10 minutes left in the game, Nevada gave up a 90 yard drive for TD, followed immediately by a safety, and capped it off by allowing an 83 yard drive to lose the game.

Disappointing performance by the MWC last night.

Nevada was +1600 on the moneyline last night. I would have been near suicidal had I bet Nevada and watched them piss that game away.

Imagine you're an SMU donor who ponied up a big check to bail out the athletic department from a stupid business deal to join a conference that will probably fall apart in a few years, and in their first game they almost piss down their leg as 4 TD favorites against the worst team in the Mountain West. Gotta be sweating right now LOL
