Year 2 of Jeff Linder and company starts now....

In case you guys missed this from the summer....Does Jeremiah Oden have the potential to become an honorary member of the Dunk Town All-Stars?

We're going to find out soon enough if we did enough of this in the off-season....

The Diamonhead classic bracket.....Am I the only Cowboy fan that is looking at this thinking, "Man it would be nice to beat Stanford, Hawaii on the road, and get BYU in the final"?

Brendan Wenzel from high school. Who knows what he'll look like since Utah tried to turn him into a 240 pound low post bruiser and Linder decided he needs to be a little skinnier...

Diamondhead is a pretty solid tourney. Winner typically does well during the season.

Year - Winner - Season Result
2010 - Butler - Lost National Championship game
2011 - Kansas - Sweet 16
2012 - Arizona - Sweet 16
2013 - Iowa State - Sweet 16
2014 - George Washington - 2nd round NIT
2015 - Oklahoma - Final Four
2016 - San Diego State - did not make postseason
2017 - USC - 2nd round NIT
2018 - TCU - NIT Semifinals
2019 - Houston - Ended the season ranked #22. Postseason tourneys cancelled due to COVID.
2020 - Cancelled due to COVID

Old Bull - thanks for posting all these, very much appreciated. We used to have a poster here that did this for hoops and football, can't remember his / her board name, I think it was GoPokes or something, and you have made up for all that. Thanks again, Balljuice McPeachy.

You're welcome. I always get anxious for basketball news when we have a team worth a damn. We seem to have one this year.

Whatever happened to GoPokes? That guy made some great threads.

Linder seems pretty stoked about the team and what they can do. It appears we have a good squads. Looking forward to it. The AA needs packed

Jeremiah Johnke with the scrimmage report and an article on Ike....

I love having the WY kid on the team, but I think he is a liability on both sides of the court. There are better options to put on the floor IMO. Hope maybe he has improved, although I am not sure how you can improve - when it appears the ceiling was hit 3 years ago.

I have complained a lot about him over the past few years and agree with what you have said but every report from Linder says he is a team player. I don't think he is truly passionate about being a great or even good basketball player but he can be a useful tool off the bench now that he isn't the only big man on the roster. It will be interesting to see if he accepts averaging 10 or fewer minutes a night to be a shooter with Ike and Oden being more complete players and the Irish giant likely being a better all around defender.

There is a lot of potentially efficient offense between Dusell, Ike, Maldonado, and the number of shooters on the roster. If the defensive identity Linder talks about is real then this team could compete for the conference.

Damn, Noah Reynolds went off in the scrimmage and J.O. had a good game.
