WyoNation Bracketology: Week 6

blogtitle.webp

We had a terrific Saturday of college football this past weekend and with that terrific week of football we got to see some shake-ups in this weeks bracketology. There's never a dull moment here at WyoNation HQ. The most talked about game from last weekend was the Vanderbilt upset of Alabama. Not sure many people would have told you before that started that Vandy had a shot. In fact, Nick Saban said that Vanderbilt was the only place in the SEC that's not hard to play at. Well, a few hours later Vanderbilt students were carrying the goal posts down Broadway in Nashville and eventually into the Cumberland River. That's the SEC.

The Big 12 is a complete mess right now, and I'm not totally positive that any of them want to win the conference. Utah seemed to have a solid hold on the conference until Arizona stuffed them in a locker at home. Now we've got Texas Tech sitting atop of the conference with Iowa State chasing their heels. In the ACC we almost saw top team, Miami, take a digger to a frisky Cal squad. The scene at Cal looked electric for College Gameday, and produced some of the more clever signs I've seen at Gameday. Cal will look back at the game and kick themselves for losing, they were in full control.

We have a new Group of Five leader in Boise State. UNLV played a pretty thrilling game against Syracuse, but couldn't quite get out of their own way to put the Orange away. Boise State, meanwhile, kept rolling this past week led by Heisman Trophy candidate Ashton Jeanty. Guy is one of the top football players in the country and is doing it in about half the time of his competition, as his coaches have been sitting him for long periods throughout the game. This weekend should produce more churn in the bracket as we have Oregon and Ohio State facing off in Eugene, Texas and Oklahoma playing in the annual Red River Shootout in Dallas, Ole Miss going to LSU, and what expects to be a very exciting game, Missouri will travel to Amherst to take on UMass.

Onto the bracket!
