Schroyer needs to be canned!

He isn't the best player. He is lazy and inconsistent. I hate to see him go but maybe the turnovers will go with him.
But honestly I cant blame any player for leaving with the moron in charge of the team

Afam has not improved his game this year one bit. He spends the entire game sitting around the perimeter waiting for the ball, when he usually has 4-6 inches on the guy guarding him. If he had a post game that was a C he would be almost unstoppable, but his post game right now is about a F-. This can be partially blamed on the coaches, but not entirely.

He was pretty good last year when the other team was chasing Ewing and Ogirri around. He didn't get a lot of attention. Well, he has no post moves and he isn't that great of a shooter. Frankly, he isn't that great of a defender either. He will be missed but it's not like he was going to me a 1st or even 2nd team all conference player. He's a long way from that.

Shroyer quote from the CST: “I was playing guys that were executing what it is we wanted to do,” Schroyer said. “ … Those were the guys that I played. There was no message. It was just… we’re going to play guys that execute and play with a sense of urgency.”

Uh, he wanted to execute an embarrassing defeat? I thought the AD had stolen all of Heath's copies of the Hoosier movie. He must have found a bootleg copy somewhere.

A good player makes those around him better. If the defense comes to him, then find the open man. What does Afam do? His assist to turnover ratio is not in the Brandon Ewing league. Bottom line, he doesn't make the players around him better. Maybe it's coaching and maybe he's not that good.

Bla bla bla......The coach brings in players and develops them. Heath's fault anyway you look at it. Either he didn't bring in enough scorers or he hasn't coached them well. I think a mid-season firing would go pretty good about now. Bring Brandenberg out of retirement.

Let's get Bobby Knight. He's probably bored right now. Hell, is Tarkanian still alive? I'd even take Boyd Grant. How about Doug Moe? Well, it's not going to happen. Let's give Heath a chance to right the ship. Losing to CSU is always a bitch. But we'll get them again. I just watched the replay of the game on the mountain. It was even worse the second time around.

Bladerunner, you know what made me the most mad about that csu game? The lack of effort by some of the players. This is our traditionsl rival here. Do they not understand that? When you go into a game like that the coach, the AD, the upper classmen, MUST make the team know that this game must be won at all costs. You dive for every loss ball, you contest every shot, you grab every rebout (or die trying). If you foul out, so be it. Unfortunately, with the poor attendance, its hard to get that message accross to the team.

This is what happens when Schroyer recruits the type of people he has been recruiting. Street ball attitude, they only care about themselves. Watch Waddell, he cared, he understands the rivalry. Ewing understood it. AJ seems to care, but had a rough game. Afam, Sylla, Desmar, Thiam, Amath, Luster...none of them seemed to care one bit, lazy, undisciplined, and uninspired. I don't care how they have been playing all year, this is one of four games that HAVE to get up for each year!

Schroyer laid into Sylla, somewhat in a positive manner - Sylla responded with his best impersonation of Linskens.

I totally agree that there is a lack of effort by some of the players. However, I thought Luster played hard. He may not have all the physical skills but he understands the game and he's a team guy.

One thing that McClain's teams did pretty well was rebound. Of course, it helps when you have a Justin Williams. Remember how good a rebounder Brad Jones was? Barely 6 feet tall and he would often get 7 or 8 boards. Waddell had 4 boards against csu. I don't know if it's lack of talent or effort or coaching. Whatever it is, the buck stops with the head coach and the product he's putting on the floor is a mess.

Yeah, McClain was awesome. He really built on the success of his first few years by getting blown out at Air Force by 50 points and posting losing MWC records after he'd been here for 5+ years. Great coach.

Jimmy Dimes, don't show your ignorance with stupid statements. The 50-point loss to Air Force was a set of very special circumstances and dealt with the MWC screwing Wyoming and kissing the butt of New Mexico. There are plenty of issues you can bring up about McClain without having to twist the facts.

11-17, 15-13, 14-18, & 17-15. Those were McClain's last 4 seasons. We can also talk about lost scholarships, etc. Don't show your blind loyalty to a crappy coach.

Speaking of lack of emotion/passion in the rivalry game... It's gotta be hard to get fired up for any game when you walk into an arena that is 3/4 empty. After losing and losing and losing, the fans don't come out and the players give up (hence the "Wyoming, it's been real"). Think about it. If you're an all star at what you do (engineering, sales, digging ditches, playing ball, whatever) and your boss/coach is sucks, is uninspiring and over the past three years has only managed to make the program worse, how motivated are you going to really be to work/play for him? Schroyer's mediocrity is bringing everyone down, even the best players.
