Wyoming Vs North Dakota

I don't know a whole lot about your team. I'd appreciate some insight from you guys and maybe we can get a strength and weakness breakdown going so we can all get a better handle on what to expect. I feel like both teams have a certain amount of mystery for the opponent going into this given the similar coaching situations.

Strength: Strong running game
Strength: D Line
Weakness: LBs
Weakness DBs
Unknown, but presumed to be OK: QB, WR

Weaknesses: Young team

Strength: We have a mascot

But for real, our strength is in the backfield. We have a new quarterback who transferred from Indiana and is a senior. Our running backs are maybe our two best players on the team. Shaun Wick is a senior and has been a monster the last two years but battled some injuries and Brian Hill is a Sophomore and in his first start ever broke the MW record for total yards and was arguably the conferences best freshman last year. The O Line remains a question mark and we have some good young talent at WR with a couple JR's leading the way that have seen significant time since their freshman seasons.

Our defensive line is our strength on the other side of the ball no question. Eddie Yarbrough is a top 10 player in the conference IMO and everyone on the line has seen a lot of playing time in their career. The LB and DB's are very inexperienced, two DB's have seen the field in the past and we have a couple LB's who have played in the past but a lot of guys there that just switched to the position in the off season.

Our team is talented in a lot of areas, but there are a ton of question marks and honestly, I am not sure anyone really knows what to expect from our team. We know we will be well coached and are going to rely on the running game and a senior QB. We will need to control the TOP and turn long drives into points. Our defense is a big question and our line will have to carry them at least in the beginning.

I think we are as talented as we have seen in the past but still a couple years away because we are so young and our last coach put us pretty far behind. The state seems as excited as they ever has about the program and where it is going, but we really won't know what we have this year until maybe early October.

We have a few players that will probably impress you guys:

#51 Sr Will Rattelle 5'11" 255lbs MLB - This guy is the rock of our defense. He's the strongest guy on the team and also the 3rd fastest. He's built like a Heman action figure and yet somehow is a quick fluid athlete. He had over 100 tackles last year.

#8 So Cole Reyes 6'2" 220 lbs SS - This guy is a special athlete, fastest guy on the team, not counting true fr, and is a big ballhawking safety. He's only scratching the surface of what he can do. He had 59 tackles and 5 PBU as a

#36 Sr Zach Adler 6'3" 250 TE/FB - A throwback H-back type guy that can do everything. He blocks like a tackle and was able to be a pass catching threat last year when he was asked to.

#71 Sr Brandon Anderson 6'6" 310 lbs OG - He's big, he's ugly, and he's started every game since he was a fr minus one due to injury last season. He's the ol reliable of our OL.

#99 So Brandon Dranka 6'2" 250 lbs DE - Had 3.5 sacks and 10.5 TFL as a TFR. Great burst and bend around the edge. He's not the biggest, played at 235 last year, but he's just good at football.

#19 So Deion Harris 6'3" 190 lb CB - A key reserve as a TFR last season, he didn't put up big numbers, 6 tackles and 1 INT, but he's got the length and ball skills to be an elite player in the near future.

#63 Sr Sean Meehan 6'5" 300 lb RT - Looks like a caveman, walks like a caveman, smells like a caveman. He's the tackle version of #71^. Just a solid hog.

#23 So Josh Seibel 5'11" 180 lb WR - Literally came out of nowhere last year. He was a school start walk on DB, then moved to WR, then sat on the bench until midway through the year, then became a first down machine and led the team in receptions. He's quick, not that fast or big, but he just competes and gets the job done. He doesn't pass the eye test in warmups. Once the game starts he just makes things happen.

#74 TFR Elijah Grady 6'5" 295 lb OG - Here is his HS film, http://www.hudl.com/athlete/4400670/highlights/229183375/v2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I know it's small time 9 man ball but this stuff is hilarious to watch. He's a monster and is a top candidate to have his RS pulled and start from day 1.

#25 TFR Iwarri Smith 6'1" 195 lb RB - Probably the fastest guy on the team, 10.7 100M and track scholarship offer from Michigan, he is a game breaker. If he can be durable enough to tote the rock as a TFR he will be a difference maker this season.

What about EXPERIENCE? By no means am I saying UW will roll...but I am just reading A LOT about UND's lack of experience. I am seeing a lot of question marks at the playmaker positions. Looks like potential, but anything proven? I realize we have little experience as well, but at the key positions on O, we do have proven guys. (D could be rough).

I am thinking that we will be seeing some collisions between Rattelle and Drew Van Maanen!

I was thinking more along the lines of Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer but this works too.

We are a young team. We also lost THEE playmaker. WR Kenny Golladay 6'4" 210 lb 4.4 speed unbelievable hands and body control. He transferred to Northern Illinois when we fired our coach and he's going to be their best WR this year. You'll see him playing on Sunday's barring a catastrophic injury. He did this with a bad high ankle sprain....

Here are highlights from his time at UND.

You first need to work on getting some fans in the basketball gym to watch him!
A lot of fans basically gave up on the Mussman era as evidence by that video. People actually support Bubba so we're starting to get more fans at games now.
