Wyoming vs DePaul

Face it. If Shyatt were running the show, this would be quickly corrected. I put the blame on Edwards for not cracking down. Pokes should be up by 10 or 15 against this team. Why is Edweards not putting any discipline in the play?

We're up 13...

I give credit to Edwards for going to that 1-3-1. It has completely shut Depaul down. Now even though we are shooting like crap if we would just stop the dumb turnovers we could be up by double digits. Need to stop all of the dumb alley oops and stuff and just make good passes.
Yep the 1-3-1 has been a godsend this 2nd half. Also I gotta give aka gorski props this half, it's been quite awhile since he's seen the ball go through the hoop, big big shots, hopefully confidence makers on those threes he just hit!!

Haha, I think when you first posted that the game was tied.

This is the first I have watched them all year, and they seem to be not half bad.

Up 15 at the moment, which is pretty solid. Hold on to tonights lead, and win tomorrow and I will be pretty impressed.

Well one thing for sure like usual on the road we start really slow but in the second half we played completely different and now we have one more game to go.

I'd love to see us win this tournament and we still have a great shot at it.

Good win for the Cowboys. If we cut the turnovers down we win by 20 points to 25 points. Need to take care of the ball better tomorrow night. The fact we can still win games by double digits turning the ball over 20 times and shooting bad from 3 is somewhat amazing but I will take it. We have a lot of upside still.

Good win in an ugly ugly game..... Pokes found a way!!! Game tomorrow against likely usc will be really really tough. We have 2 common opponents, trojans beat montana by 14, and cornell by 12.

USC is missing their best player right now . (Bennie Boatwright)That is why their last couple of games have been closer. That is why they are beatable right now. They should still win tonight but if they don't it won't surprise me.

Wyoming can beat them without Boatwright playing if we take better care of the ball.

I kicked my wife out of the room when the 2nd half started like the first. We quickly built a lead after that. I felt bad....but it had to be done.

Can't imagine we win a lot of games playing like that, let alone win by double digits.

I'll take it though.

Very similar to our football team. Young, loose, wild, sporadic, intense. They'll lose a few they should win this year but not because of lack of hustle. There's a price to be paid for playing up tempo when your not quite loaded with up tempo players. We're getting there though, and I can live with the mistakes and turnovers in OOC, but those will hopefully subside as we get into the meat of conference play. All other factors being equal, we half our turnovers and make our free throws, were in contention to win most games. Despite the chaos.

That's what I liked about Shyatt. He knew exactly what is players could and couldn't do and played accordingly.
Disagree. Are you saying Adams, Nance and Cooke couldn't play uptempo? Couldn't grab offensive rebounds? Because we didn't see any of that under Shyatt.

I think the offense is still a bit of a shock to some people, especially coming right on the heels of the extreme slow-down pace the team used to play at. Don't expect it to slow in MW play, because I think this offensive style is here to stay.

usc also beat troy by 5....2 days later we beat them by 6

this game will either be a statement game for edwards or a complete flustercluck.......just not sure which one yet

Yes, 22 turnovers won't win you many games against disciplined, well-coached teams. That number needs to come down tonight and into MWC play. DePaul is average, at best.

Upgrades in athleticism are on the way to play more uptempo! Until then, there were times last night when I wished Edwards would have demanded more clock management in half court when the Pokes were up double-digits later in the game. Milk the clock a little and settle things down.

Pokes have a chance tonight if they play smart on both ends of the floor (and hit their threes, of course). I didn't watch most of the 2nd half, but it looks like USC beat Missouri State by eight. DePaul and Air Force also beat Mo. State this season. Statistically, it looks like USC likes to go to the glass and pound the paint in a lot of games, so Dalton, Herndon, Naughton and the boys will need to be stout defensively on the interior. A good performance here could really propel the Pokes, confidence-wise, heading into conference play.
