Wyoming vs. Air Force - GTS

GTS = Guess The Score....

Homecoming week! The young Falcons come to town on Saturday....some light showers are projected for that day. This is a huge football game for this team going forward. Win, and momentum could build for this otherwise disappointing Cowboys team. Lose, and things could get rough for the second half of the college football season in Laramie.

My prediction...

Wyoming 28, Air Force 21. Falcons make it interesting late, but this team is way too young and inconsistent on both offense and defense to come into Laramie and steal a win.
 
Other than the rain plays in their favor, running, our weakness, defense, and somewhat hinders our offense, passing.

UW wins 35 24
 
magic 8 ball says.... try again... ok so I'll guess on my own Wyoming wins this game on the back of another steller run stopping performance by the defense and airing it out against air forces secondary. Pokes win 31-24 and the pokes begin their assault on the rest of the conference.

I really think the team will respond well. I have faith in the D-line. I watched the Air Force - Navy game and AF just isn't as good as they have been the past 10 years or so. Although Dietz is a heckuva competitor and containing him will be the key. I think we move the ball on AF.
 
I see the Pokes containing Af on the run this weekend... they are not very good at all in the pass.. never really are good but this year really bad in the pass so we hold the run for the second week and this will be the start of a very good D for the rest of the year. For the second week we face the leading rusher in the nation. Again he will drop from the top.

We are 2.5 point underdogs and the total on the game is 60. I think neither defense will have much success so I think it goes over the total. I see us losing a close game 34-38.
 
Air Force pass comes alive. Or, put another way, Poke pass defense performs as usual. Regretably, but realistically, AF 28-24.

Underdogs in our own house - after the whipping we gave them last year at their house. This is unacceptable. I wish I had more faith in our defense. Watch out for the cut blocks Pokes.
 
Hope I am wrong but I think after last weeks loss Wyoming will come out flat as a pancake and get behind early. They will try to fight back in the 2nd half but it won't be enough.

Seattle, I owe you a beer for last week. I bet us hard. What do you think of Fresno - Boise st and Oregon st - byu?

I like Boise giving 7.5 at home and I like Oregon st. on the moneyline +190 at byu. I'm not convinced byu is any good.

Our game is the hardest to pick. I lean against us because I can see Air farce controlling the ball and not letting our offense on the field. Our defense really didn't do much until we faced their second string qb. I hope I"m wrong (as I often am).

I don't like the Fresno- Boise game either way really. If I had to pick a side I would say Fresno covers the +7.5. Boise hasn't faced an offense as good as Fresno's yet this year but like I said I don't like it from a betting standpoint either way.

The Oregon St.- BYU game I actually liked Oregon St. when it came out but Oregon St.'s starting QB is out this week. I still like OSU getting +6 as I don't think either offense will move the ball at all. I would be surprised if either team scored more than 14 points unless there are a bunch of turnovers or defensive TD's.

I don't like the Wyoming/ AFA game from a betting standpoint either. If I had to pick a side I would say AFA just because I think Wyoming is going to be flat as hell after the way they lost that game last week. I won't be betting any of those 3 games myself unless I take the Under 38 in the OSU/BYU game.

I actually like Utah St. +3 this week against SJSU.
 
Guess The Score, hell, most of us haven't been able to even guess the winner, let alone the score. But that's only because most of us have been picking the Pokes to win. Last week I guessed the winner to be whoever had the ball last. Then again, I assumed whoever had the ball last was actually going to try to score. I have a bad feeling about this one. I see AF grinding the clock and the yards and either scoring or giving us real bad field position all day. One of the things that kept us in the game last week was our special teams, we won that battle. Unless Brett and the boys can continue with their quick strike long scoring plays all day, I see a lower scoring close one that we lose. AF 17 Wyo 14

I don't think I have ever seen any "home cookin" @ Wyoming.
