LARAMIE -- Wyoming right tackle Ryan Cummings will likely miss the rest of the season with a foot injury, head coach Craig Bohl said Tuesday.

Cummings, a 6-foot-6, 319-pound junior, has started every game for Wyoming this season.

Sophomore Brinkley Jolly is listed as Cummings' backup. Jolly, a 6-foot-5, 273-pound converted tight end, has yet to appear in a game this season. He played in Wyoming's season finale in 2015 against UNLV.

Third-year University of Wyoming football coach Craig Bohl said Tuesday that junior straight right tackle Ryan Cummings is likely out for the rest of the season with a foot injury.

Cummings was seen wearing a protective boot during media interviews Monday. He wasn't at Tuesday's practice.

The injury occurred in UW's 42-34 win at Nevada last Saturday.

So it said he got injured during the game - I didn't notice him leaving. Does anybody know when it happened?

Also recall quite a few people calling him terrible after he false-started and allowed Allen to get sacked on our first possession. ;)

But yes, this is a big loss. At least the O-line appears to have a tiny bit more depth than the D-line.

Pass blocking, he gets a bit jumpy. Run blocking though, he puts that big body to great use.

lolol this is a good point. "Backup Jolly has yet to play in a game this season" ...then when the fuck did Ryan get hurt? Post-game? Played with 4 OL and we didn't notice?

Sounds like plantar flaciitus too me. If he played the whole game, sounds like an on going thing that finally became to much for the coaches to ignore, probably started affecting his ability...

Maybe tiny stress fractures, either way both injuries feel the same, and require weeks of crutches to heal up.... Lol, get it.... "Heal" up. See what I did there?

Could be an adrenaline thing, and he didn't realize until after.

He has a broken foot. You can end your speculation now. :D

That sucks. Hopefully, we've got some talent behind him. I think we're still a ways away on depth, but we'll find out.

The only good news: our team will probably draw less penalties.

His backup is Brinkley Jolly a converted TE. LIke most other first in backups, I am sure he'll be up for the job. Probably a little better feet, but not the bulk that Cummings had.

Get well Ryan and show them what you have Brinkley. We need you.

Go Pokes!!

Whoever it is is a significant downgrade. Cummings is our second best lineman.

I wonder if we're going to break the glass on Jace Webb. They want to redshirt him, but this is a big deal and we're in the hunt for a championship.

Can you guys shed more light on your line situation, I know they are a big hardy bunch but who do you perceive as your top line guys and are you impressed with the line play this season. I've unfortunately only watched two of Wyoming's games this year.

I pay attention to the line more than most (although I didn't play line in h.s.) so I feel semi-qualified to answer. Chase Roullier is the best lineman. Chase is a draft prospect and moved to C from G this year. We've got a true Freshman at left G, Rush, and a true sophomore at the other G. Cummings was at right T and imo was the second best lineman. Cummings was a hell of a run blocker and we made better yards running to the right than the left. The backup is a converted TE that I've never seen play so I have no clue what to expect there. Jace Webb is another lineman that's a true freshman that's yet to play this year. It was a competition between Rush and Webb to see who would play and who would redshirt. I'm not sure if Webb can step in at T or not. All I know is the staff really, really liked him.

Depth is certainly still an issue, but it is building fast. I'd say in two years we're going to probably have a top-3 O line in the MWC. I've always been jealous of Boise's O lines. Such good line play from Boise year in and year out.

Yeah, our line play was EXCELLENT when we had Sean Kugler back in the day, that was when we had Ryan Clady and a few others that went to the NFL. This group has been OK this year, good run blockers and average pass blockers. Did you guys end up redshirting Dustin Weeks? I have quite a few family members in North Dakota that said hes a hell of a lineman.

Dustin Weeks. You know, I kind of forgot about him. I believe he is redshirting. Iirc he was really tall and pretty skinny. I doubt he has the mass at this point to play, but I would assume that once he does put on the necessary weight he'll be in the mix.

Clady is my boy. He had a cumbersome foot injury that he had been struggling with, but has worked his ass off to get back. Really good guy.
