But to be fair, we don't know why they left. If for "personal reasons" ...then best of luck to them. If because they couldn't hack it, then it is what it is.

I know why......but I am not sure I want to spoil everyone's perception of our new staff. It is SOS.

SOS. Hmmm...is it strength of schedule...shit on a shingle... save or souls...save our ships...sink or swim...

LOL, Same Ol Shit!
We didn't change school colors, so what did you expect?

Sounds like the Oline was a patchwork of ones, twos and threes. Besides one big hole for May it seemed it was a tough day for the run game. A lot of sacks and QB fumbles is not very reassuring. That O line has to perform better better or its going to be a long ugly season. Hope to see better blocking by this time next week. Encouraged by the defense though, seems they're a little farther ahead.

Good stuff.....although, no surprise really. Defense will take a big step in the right direction in 2014, but the offense may see a humongous drop off. Bohl is laying the foundation right now, but this thing won't be built for another 2-4 years.

–Overall, Bohl was pleased with the defense in how it tackled and its angles of pursuit. He also liked the pressure the defensive line put on the quarterback. However, Bohl said the depth at defensive tackle behind senior Patrick Mertens and sophomore Uso Olive still is a work in progress. Sophomore Chase Appleby and redshirt junior Troy Boyland were the guys that played with the No. 2 defense.

Notes and Quotes: Defense controls Wyoming's first spring scrimmage

Well, that was a start.

Wyoming played its first scrimmage of the spring on Saturday, and unsurprisingly, the defense seemed to win the day. The Cowboys' offense managed only one touchdown and two field goals, and the defense racked up an eye-popping seven sacks.

Media was not allowed to attend the scrimmage, but we did chat with players and coaches following its conclusion. Here are a few things I took away.

Wyoming Cowboys Complete First Spring Scrimmage on Saturday
Two-Hour Scrimmage the First of Three for Pokes This Spring

New Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl and his team took the field in War Memorial Stadium a little before 11 a.m. on Saturday in what was the first of three spring scrimmages for the Cowboys. The scrimmage concluded after about one hour and 15 minutes of action. Bohl spoke with media after Saturday's practice about the areas of his team that stood out to him.
"I was real pleased with our first scrimmage," said Bohl. "Obviously, we are a work in progress, but overall I thought our defense did a good job tackling. Our pursuit angles looked pretty good, and I thought we gang tackled well. I was particularly pleased with our defensive front. I thought they put a lot of pressure on the quarterback today, and established the line of scrimmage.
