Monday morning in Tom Burman's office:
TB - "Great game Dave. The offense looked awesome!"
DC - "Thanks Tom, 44 points is pretty fucking good isn't it?"
TB - "It sure is Dave, you looked like an offensive genius on Saturday."
DC - "Uh, Tom, sorry about losing the game though."
TB - "No problem Dave, even with the loss you are still 4-4 on the year, and in my book batting .500 is a successful program. Hell, after that offensive explosion at SJSU, I'm thinking it's raise and contract extension time for you."
DC - "Holy shit Tom, that's great news. But do you think the fans might be pissed?"
TB - "Aw hell Dave, the fans are conditioned to this. Mediocrity is a way of life around here. Don't worry about it. Go ahead and order that new BMW you had your eye on. I'll pitch this to the powers that be and we'll have this deal inked by the end of the week. Hell, look how long I kept Schroyer around and he was a world class loser."
DC - "Wow, Tom, this is fantastic news. I'm headed down to the Buck to have a cold one with the team. You know we have a bye week so it's PARTY TIME!!."
