This season is doable I see a bowl game in Wyoming's future...but then again, I'm drunk
 
I love reading how "awful" Wyoming is on AztecMesa. They are giving the pokes no credit whatsoever. It's definitely a good read though. They are in shock! :lol:

You mean, similar to the 2nd half of tonight's game?

2 missed field goals and multiple bad decisions by Lindley saved us.

All we needed was 5 more first downs in the entire half and we would have been ok, still bad, but ok.

Absolutely I am! Very happy we pulled it out.

If we want to be on the next level, like we all do (I assume), you can't do what we did in the second half and it needs to be corrected. If we can't recognize that and are satisfied with it, we will continue to be mediocre in the MWC (or a conference similar)

5-2, 2-0 is FANTASTIC. The first half play showed that we may just be able to compete with BSU or TCU, second half showed we aren't there yet and can't take games like CSU or UNM for granted.
 
The 2nd half issue will not be corrected until next year, We seriously need more size on the D line so they are worn out by the 4th quarter. However if we can put up 30-40 in the first half of any game we can be competitive but you are going to see Wyo stumble in the 3rd and 4th as the line gets winded.
 
Funny......its a Wyoming message board that had 100+ post thread about how overrated SDSU has been for a year now....and guess who exposes them on the field as overrated?

You make a great point, I feel that in this game in particular, our offense hurt our defense in a very, very bad way. We are small, and HIllman is a great back, and SDSU's line is big and strong and very good. When we go 3 and out every single possession, of course our D is going to slack.

Literally all we needed was a couple possession where we just held on to the ball a little longer, instead of punting almost immediately.

I think our size is solid now after the post Utah State adjustments. Besides the one run, we held them to one TD in the 2nd half. I also thought we put decent pressure on Lindley late to cause him to throw a few passes sooner than he wanted. And those tips by Biezuns were nice too.

Field position was an issue for us most of the 4th quarter and we held them scoreless...with a couple assists from their kicker.
 
What feels even better than just this win. Is the PROGRESS we are making to become a more competitive team in every game we play (minus USU)

Anyone who thinks CDC isn't increasing the talent level here is crazy

Agreed. He's only been recruiting guys that are impact players on their teams, and will fit into his offense, defense, and special teams. Like Brett Smith, Rufran, Burns, and Pittser, to name a few.
 
I don't want to say that SDSU is overrated. I'd prefer to think that we are making progress and becoming more competitive, no?

Calling our opponents overrated only demeans ourselves.

I agree with you 100%! What gets on my nerve is everyone saying SDSU just played crappy and made the Cowboys look good. I feel that we ARE good. We will find out for sure next weekend just what kind of team we really have.
