Al Golden is an example of a coach building a program in 4 years (I can't remember if I listed him among the numerous others). Prior to his arrival, Temple was miserable, but he had them at 9 wins in his 4th year.

Addazio stepped in and won instantly with what Golden built. Some debate ensues regarding what was left for Rhule, but he took a decent situation and was at 6 wins in year 3 and well on his way to 8+ wins in year 4.

All perfect examples of how it takes about 4 years in the G5 ranks to get things on track if you are able to get things on track.

Naturally, at WYO, for some reason, it will take up to 10 years.

BTW, poster formerly known as DINO, when is the college football season going to be interrupted - or not completed at all?

Temple plays in the AAC, which is a joke conference. I know this year it is more competitive, with Memphis and Houston both ranked and unbeaten. BUT, I call a conference like the MW more competitive and stronger from top-to-bottom. Plus, I'll say I am not buying how "great" Temple is in 2015. This game versus Notre Dame, on a national stage, will tell us very much.

They were ranked higher than the MWC-West last year and just behind the MWC-Mtn. They were ranked higher than both divisions the previous year and the Big East ranked above the MWC since Utah, TCU, and byu left.

They are actually quite a ways ahead of us this year unless you use kansas' convoluted method of ranking things. Coincidentally, he doesn't even really believe it because he won't man up with a bet.

What is the joke behind this?

My take is that DINO got drunk and posted something that didn't make sense. He later went back and deleted what he posted but luckily some people quoted him.

I keep waiting to hear when this season will be interrupted?

Yep, kinda looks like me when I drunk text. Only he wasn't begging anybody for intercourse.

Not difficult for big city schools like Houston, Temple, and Memphis to recruit players. They always have talent, but not always the coaching.

Even that said, one season does not equal consistency. Get back to me in 2017 on all three of these schools.

For your first point, I'm not sure I agree completely. These schools may have more local talent available than others, but kids might enjoy playing in a city with no pro teams to have a bigger spotlight on them (Los Angeles, Boise, haha maybe even Laramie). Philly is known for so many other things besides Temple, I bet most high school kids don't even know that Temple is in Philadelphia. Of course, I don't think these schools are necessarily "difficult" to recruit to for this reason, but I don't think you can claim that it's definitely "not difficult".

For your second point, I agree. Look at where UCF was a few years ago (arguably the best team in the state with the No. 1 overall draft pick) to now a winless team that bars run free beer promotions on. Then again, I'd take a season of success with a college Gameday party with an uncertain future over a 1-7 team with a bunch of kids who can't grow a mustache guided by coordinators that aren't fit for Division I football... at least Temple is having fun for 1 year--> is there a jealous emoji?

Houston (first record listed is 2014 then descending from there for all)
8-5
8-5
5-7
13-1
5-7
10-4
8-5
8-5
10-4

Temple
6-6
2-10
4-7
9-4
8-4
9-4
abysmal for a long time

Memphis
Before this year, last decent stretch was way back in 2003 or so.

Still, Temple has moderately sustained a level of success and Houston certainly has maintained success. Memphis is TBD. They also have Cinci who is having a down year but had 9+ wins the past 7 of 8 seasons--I'd say that is sustained.

AAC is better than the MWC and the gap is widening.

When you say the gap is widening, is that like a small gap such as the one between Michael Strahan's two front teeth, or is it widening more similar to Kim Kardashian's ever growing ass?

His change of identity is similar to the artist formerly known as Prince. Except Prince turned himself into a symbol and Dino turned himself into a stone age Neanderthal.

Like a less popular and more polarizing Rush Limbaugh.

Correct about Philly. It is NOT a college football city. It is a college basketball city. Temple shares Lincoln Financial Field with the Philadelphia Eagles. It is going to be difficult to draw talent where there are 4 pro sports teams in town. But I can tell you most Phildelphia/NJ recruits attend Rutgers, Penn State or Pittsburgh to play football. They are not going to Temple. And would not attend Temple if they had offers from those schools.
