Wyoming O Line

As I mentioned on several occasions - Walker Madden is the real deal, maybe the toughest LT we have had in quite a while.

Any doubters out there now?

Oh, and Perez was a VERY nice surprise - that kid is a baller.

I thought the Oline played outstanding. Not only did they give Smith time, they played with a chip on their shoulders. I saw a few pushing matches during the game.

Agree completely. We haven't had that "attitude" at UW in a LONG LONG time.

One of the main question marks this season was the O line. I was shocked at the way they fired off the ball and finished blocks. They were incredible in pass protection and their footwork was great. Wicks running style is perfect for the inside run and he trusts his line. On his touchdown run from the 6 yd line he waited for the block to develop and hit the jets. That extra 15 pounds on wick was noted on the way he punished tacklers by powering through the contact. I also thought Miller was great as usual catching passes out of the backfield. He doesnt run with a low pad level, but he just gets the job done. Lets hope they can continue this .

Only real knock on Perez was the high snaps he did for for a few plays. One went over Smith's head, but Smith was able to throw it forward (and almost complete it) and make sure it wasn't recovered by the defense/loss of yards. But otherwise, I am really happy with how they played.

That particular play should've been a touchdown, but somebody who didn't have a chance to haul it in decided to deflect it, when it would've landed square in an open receiver's arms. :(

I'm sold on Madden, but Perez to Smith still needs a bit more polishing.

Attitude's great, at least for 50 minutes of the game...

Perez looked a bit shaky at times, but for his first d1 game in Lincoln, Nebraska in front of 92K I think he did well. The more practice time and game time he gets he will be fine. I think over Idaho and Northern Colorado he will find his groove and be a lot more improved.

Again, it looks like the rumors are true... this appears to be the best O-Line in the DC era... only one game but they looked solid.

Huh? 50 minutes? What?

Perez has been on campus roughly 5 weeks. First D1 football game. In Lincoln. Etc.

Talking about overall attitude of the team in-game. Still disappeared for 10 minutes in the 2nd half on both sides of the ball, but the defensive doldrums did the most damage.
