With the way the Cowboys played Nebraska tough a few seasons ago for a half at home - and considering the incredible feeling that still permeates from the way the POKES performed last week in Lincoln, it got me to thinking: Is it possible that these two programs will talk about playing each other more frequently in coming seasons?

I cannot imagine anyone who wouldn't want to see this.

I realize we next play them again in two years back in Lincoln, but what about Wyoming doing another 3 game series deal with the Corn coming back to Laramie in '17, the same year in which Oregon is coming to The War?

Personally I'd love to see this thing being developed into a full blown rivalry with the POKES & Huskers meeting every season...although it is probably not realistic.

Lastly, I'm hoping that the showing last Saturday might have struck a chord with some big corn-fed oxen high school lineman in the state of Nebraska -- who might want to think about looking our way to play their college ball...if room at the Inn in Lincoln might be a bit overflowing.

Thoughts...?

I would love having a series with Nebraska somewhat frequently. They are a big time program, and also a regional game it would be a great OOC game for the Pokes. I think that it could potentially help with recruiting, but winning 10 games the rest of the year would help out more for the Pokes in that aspect. Also congrats on the new contract Dino.

Does that mean you have to start your show at 5 am local time? Damn early if you ask me lol....

As far as the Wyoming/ Nebraska series it would be great to see them on the schedule at least every couple of years if possible. I would love to see it. Would probably help recruiting as well.
 
I would love to see this series continued. The Nebraska faithful seem to have the same opinion (as long as it's after Brett Smith graduates). It's a good thing for both fanbases. I really hope that both the Wyoming and Nebraska AD's offices are exploring signing another deal.

Isn't he suppose to be the better talent of the two...DC is recruiting him isn't he? Maybe that would make Nebraska shy away from it for another four years.
 
Brett's Dad just posted a picture to Twitter.. Nebraska sent a recruiting letter to Cade today.
 
Cade will have a ton of suitors before its all over. Oddly enough, ACS's younger brother is a 4-star prospect himself.
 
Thanks for the nice words all...I just think it makes so much sense to have these two schools playing each other more regularly...lets hope!
 
I agree. I've always thought about where'd we actually be today had we had Nebraska on our schedule as a rival all these years. I thought instead of a one home and two away game contracts why not a schedule each other everyother year home and then away. I've also thought we should be playing both Nebraska and Creighton more often in basketball as well.
 
I doubt Cade goes to Nebraska lol.
I'm pretty sure he is set on the Ducks. Anyone else recruiting him is pointless, especially outside of the PAC12 and Wyo.

Maybe I'm using my heart more than my head...but Cade as a COWBOY sounds more reasonable to me than Cade as a Duck.

His dad was a QB at Oregon (bench player, but at Oregon nonetheless) and he and Brett were both big Ducks fans growing up. I feel like Oregon is our biggest competitor for Cade, even if they haven't actively recruited him yet. I'm a little concerned about UCLA, too. According to some reports I've seen they're showing some high interest levels.
 
Cade needs to come to High Country!!! As for Nebraska, I think we should play them as they are a border state, and I've always liked playing border schools more often. CU is afraid of having to come to Laramie, look at what we do to their Basketball squad. Utah, I'd like to play them more often and yes to BYU on occassion. Border school rivalries help tons in recruiting etc. and as long as we sign deals to get them to come here to Laramie we'll take a 2 for 1 anyday.

Yes congrats on the contract Dino, gonna miss the nights but maybe i can catch ya on occassion...GO POKES
