I was at the track and field championship friday and saturday. Men's team finished a distant 6th out of 6 teams ( SDS, utah, and Unlv don't field men's teams). Not one male athlete won an event, track or field.

The Cowgirls were 8th out of 9 teams. Wyoming athletes won the 400 and the 400 hurdles. The women's 4 X 400 relay team finished a very respectable 2nd to a very strong TCU team.

Overall, very disappointing. I know it's not a money producing sport, but good track and cross country teams would be a bonus. Most of our athletes are Wyoming kids. In the past, we have had some great ones. Shauna Smith and Jessica Fox just to name 2.

Question: is there a sport other than women's basketball (unwatchable imo) that we don't finish last in?

Sad thing is, a friend of mine since pre-school (both were born and raised here in Laramie) decided to go to Boise State for Track and Field. In high school, he set a record (maybe more) in track at LHS.

Also, wrestling, but it is not a MWC sport, sadly.
