Wyoming in the College Basketball Invitational?

Well, The Pokes are not in the NCAA, Shocker......and even missed the NIT, no surprise there, but CSU and Fresno State got in, the CIT didn't pick them up, so I am curious if the CBI could actually happen. Last year, Nevada won the CBI, then won the MW this year, then won the MW Tourney and is now in the NCAA tournament, SO, I would like to see a similar path for the POKES. WIN THE CBI......that's if of course your invited or pay the fees.

Hate ending the season on one of the worst games in Wyoming history, certainly the worst in MW with regards to a 25-0 start. That's just embarrassing, so lets get back some respect before ending the season.

Fire away, if anyone is actually reading the basketball forum anymore.

I'm going to put myself out on a limb and expose myself in a HUGE way to this tough forum. This is good for the Pokes and will pay off. I will be the first to say lets win the CBI, that is a huge win for us. I know, huge risk, we lose and all the pessimist will say I TOLD YOU SO, we suck, our players are so so, our coaches can't do it, but Coach E is a NCAA Champion, so lets have some faith that he brings the Kentucky Blue to the Wyoming Gold. I am praying for a win and my bet is it should be close but we win by 5. Kind of like Clinton was going to win and Trump was going to get crushed in the election, but Trump won. So, come on Pokes, help me here or I will be crucified by this forum for the next seven months.

NEVER EVER EVER QUIT

I'm with ya man! Extra playing time can never hurt a team. Not bitching, but would love to see coach run with the lineup we have all been asking for and win the whole damn thing.

I'm all for more games. We need to prove to ourselves that we don't suck as bad as the what the Air Force game says

More games=more practice time and exposure between coaches and players. Nothin wrong with that.

The interesting thing about this tournament is the 4 quarter play, the foul rules, and time clock on fore court throw ins. Eastern Washington is a little better team than the Pokes, IMO. But can the Pokes win? Ask Edwards if he is going to do it right this time to find out.

I have always wondered what makes teams / schools turn down any kind of post season play. I am pretty sure SDSU (19 & 14) and maybe NM (17 & 14) received invites to either CIT or CBI - but apparently turned them down.

Do they see it as a waste of money? Are their students out of town (like ours)? Is it their "Spring Break", like ours? Hmmmm.

i could see how playing in a game with limited tv coverage in front of literally tens and tens of fans might result in a net fiscal loss

And there is that little item of paying $50,000 to host one of these games.

Hell, I would save the money, and use it to hire a better strength and conditioning guy. For a team that trains and plays at high altitude, Wyoming literally "sucked" all year. I don't think I've ever seen that many players on that many occasions raising their hands to be subbed out because they were winded.
