Wyoming @ Hawaii

Quick summary of what's going on at UH...

It's been a rough season, and Saturday didn't make matters better. The offense once again looks absolutely horrible. The line can't block, and Woolsey is dreadfully terrible. The defense is playing their hearts out, arguably a Top 3 MW defense...they are forcing turnovers left and right, only for Woolsey and co. to do nothing with it.

Norm Chow is losing faith from fans, and his mind may be elsewhere after his wife suffered a brain aneurysm on Friday. Prayers go out to her and the Chow family.

I know some will say it's tough to play in Hawaii, and it usually is...but this offense is Von Appen era awful. It has become part of the DNA of this program to find ways to lose. With Bohl coming off a bye week, something he is stellar at getting results off of, I'd be SHOCKED if Wyoming drops this game. Interested to see the spread, but I don't think the Pokes have anything to worry about. Woolsey will be Wyoming's best player on Saturday.

Hawaii's offense may be inept, but they do have a stout defense. Good chance to show the MWC that our win over Air Force was no fluke. And maybe show that Wick is better than Ajayi? Considering Wick hasn't turned it over against stronger teams, and Ajayi has fumbled it multiple times...

C'mon Pokes! Beat the rainbows! And bring the Paniolo Trophy home!

Wick may hold onto the ball better than Ajayi does, but outside of that...I don't think he has anything on Ajayi at all. Wick has been very boom or bust.

Other than Air Force, Wick has been doing a very good job of running the ball. Even against MSU he did pretty well despite only 5 carries. Ajayi is good, don't get me wrong, but has been shut down a few times in separate games already. Not to mention multiple fumbles.

Boom or bust? What Wick are you watching? Certainly you aren't discrediting him because of the Air Force game.

I was thinking the same thing...Wick has been the only consistent component of our team over the last two years....Wick is a stud. He has sundays written all over him.

Ajay has twice the carries as Wick does and a much better offensive line, yet Wick still holds his own every week. Against Air Force, if a team wants load up the box obviously the run game will be shut down. It's the responsibility of the Offensive Coordinator and the Qb to figure out a way to back a defense off the ball. Suprised we don't use a full back dive, draws and screen passes to slow down the run blitz. Those plays will slow down a defense alot. Anyways with the amount of carries Ajay gets its just a matter of time before his legs get tired. Hopefully when we play them his legs are felling like lead weights.

Definitely will be tough to out "smash mouth" them. Good D. We will need CK to have a decent game and not turn it over.

If we have to rely 85%+ on run game, we lose. If passing game is adequate, we win.

There should be no reason our O line can't hang with the Hawaii defensive front. If our Oline gets their asses kicked against Hawaii, we're in a shit load of trouble. They may have lost two more starting linebackers against Rice and are low on quality defensive linemen. Hopefully we get a confident and calm Colby.
