Wyoming gets Northern Iowa in Seattle

Northern Iowa is a tough team. That will be a bruiser of a game with two defensive teams. First to 40 wins.
I wish CSU had gotten in over BYU.

So Not sure about this match up really. I was hoping for a team that would be a little more undisciplined so that is the bad news. The good news is they play the same pace of play as us.
Northern Iowa actually slows it down even more than Wyoming does but they also shoot the 3 like Boise St. They are very disciplined.
Wyoming is better over all down low but Seth Tuttle and Larry Nance will be a good match up. Tuttle can step out and shoot the 3 ball but he can also score inside.
They play very good defense as well. They don't play as tough as San Diego St. but they are just a notch below it. Basically Wyoming will be facing a team that is close but not quite like SDSU on defense but shoots the ball like Boise St. but at a slower pace of play. That is the best way I can describe it for people who don't know much about Northern Iowa.
They only lost 3 games all year one of them being in the conference championship to Wichita St. but they also beat Wichita St. at home by 14 points.
They beat Stephen F. AUstin another tournament team in OT at the start of the year by 2. They beat Iowa on a neutral court by 12 who is another tournament team. They beat Northwestern out of the Big Ten by 19 and Virginia Tech out of the ACC by 19 as well. Beat Richmond by 5 who was an NCAA bubble team.
They lost to VCU at VCU in double OT by 2.
This will be a grinder of a game if there ever was one. Very slow pace.
I think this will be a very tough match up and honestly would have rather seen a team more fast paced and somewhat less disciplined but we can win this game. Going to have to let Nance dominate down low to have a chance in this one.
We will also have to knock down some 3's or i think we will be in trouble.
