After the December signing day, portal season and February signing day the Wyoming Cowboys stand at 120 players. That is 15 above the new mandated number and you can see the position breakdown below:

- There are about 14 position player walk-ons who will have to seriously outperform scholarship players to earn a spot on the 105-man roster so that right there gets you to 106 but I'm sure a few will stick.
- It's being reported that Wyoming wants to add 3-4 transfers when the portal opens up for the spring window. So the Pokes will have to get to around 101 players to add to the group.
- The Spring portal will bring some surprises as there are a few positions with a boatload of players and at the end of spring ball they will be told they are down on the depth chart and will look for opportunity elsewhere. Those positions include DE, DT and OL.
- If I were to guess at what positions Wyoming will add this Spring portal window I would think, CB, P and perhaps WR.
