Wyoming Football is in the gutter again.....

As much as it pains me to say....our football team is not even close to a contender for even the top part of the conference. Our defense is exposed and teams are wrecking us easily. TVW is young but he's another Nick Smith pretty much. I guess we had our little 2 year run.....how long will it be until we sniff success again?

I question your football knowledge if you think he’s close to nick smith. Is he a world beater, right now? No

I am not at all happy with Vigen and this offense, but I really don't think we are in the gutter. Other than Fresno, every other game is winnable ( unfortunately loseable as well) We really need Hawaii, so we can get back some confidence.

Completely agree. TVW is miles ahead where Smith was last year as a junior, and he has a much stronger arm. Also, he does seem to improve slightly game by game.

You can contest my football knowledge or whatever makes you feel better but TVW is pretty much giving us what Nick has in the past. A good pass here and there....easy misses...and complete passes mostly on short stuff. Of course, our offensive scheme sucks...so not sure what he's capable of. I am not sure Bohl's system is effective here, especially when you have a questionable defense.

How we play over the next three weeks will determine if this is a gutter season. Sure we have looked like total shit at times but 2 and 3 at this point was expected.

But its the way that the L's have played out makes me wonder if we can squeeze out 4 wins which would qualify as a season in the gutter considering expectations.

I've been seeing the same...also 3rd downs are impossible

ja bought a lot of time with his legs, maybe we need more speed, cuz we sure wont see less pressure...

Nick smith is a great teammate first of all, but tvw is much better. Flush the Boise game down the toilet with a bunch of smelly crap. The next four weeks will tell the real story of the season

QB more than any other position will require development. We will never or nearly never recruit a ready made product. We have to hit on a good development prospect every other year. It is also on the coaches to develop offensive strategies to make it as easy as possible on young QBs.

TVW is a good prospect and could develop into a damn good QB.

Bohl is a good coach for us that can develop talent. He needs to develop an offense that can operate against superior talent and bury inferior talent. An older seasoned OC would go a long ways.

This is the problem right now. Wyoming will never field a team where we are superior at every position against teams like Boise, etc. and our current offense does nothing to close the skill gap. This offense is predicated on being the toughest, biggest, strongest, and fastest team and we are not that. So instead of putting ourselves in position to mitigate that, we continue to expose ourselves.

The utter refusal to adjust schemes, tempos, and play call cadence is mind boggling. No one is asking to become an Air Raid team or anything like that. But why not try a 2-minute style, hurry up offense from the start of the game? Why not line up in the pistol more instead of under center? Why not pass twice before rushing or calling more sweeps or slants? Our offensive line is porous, maybe try quick hitters to get the ball out of TVW hand within a couple seconds... Asking him to navigate a collapsing pocket every single 5-7 step drop is a recipe for disaster and is no wonder we have struggled against teams with a pulse this season.

I really don't think we're TOO far off from being a competitive team but are being held down not so much by talent and skill but by the coaching staff seemingly not understanding that right now our talent doesn't fit the cloud of dust mentality. It may at some point, but right not its not working. We make no effort to tailor our offense to the personnel we have, we try to cram the square peg in the round hole to no avail. Thats coaching.

Because we would score too fast and that can't happen because we need to control the clock and time of possession and let our defense rest so they can take over in the 2nd half. If we score too fast then our offense gets tired and so does our defense and that will allow us to be dominated in the 2nd half.

Pretty Simple. Bohl's philosophy.
