Someone ought to point him to this board in the comments. I don't really want to sign up for an sbnation account.

Back BB (before Burman) Pistol Pete rode around on a horse in tailgate park.

Then the department became pussified. And continued to be pussified.

I always thought it was pretty dumb that our live mascot is a pony. Why can't we have an actual horse that Pistol rides into the stadium to lead the team in? Let him ride the horse in front of the team and maybe shoot some guns up into the air it would be a hell of a lot better than having a pony.

Doesn't Texas Tech kind of already do that?
They did until the horse got spooked and ran itself into a wall where it snapped it's neck and died. Not sure if they still do that or not. Made for a hell of a game since they couldn't get the horse out and threw a tarp over it. The players had to walk around or jump over the horse to get into the locker rooms.

The 1994 game against New Mexico. I guess the saddle broke, the horse got spooked and was running for the portal. And at the last minute it bent it's head and hit the wall, snapping its neck.

Hahaha holy shit...this can't be real can it?
This just seems to crazy for it to happen...What..the...fuck...

How did PETA feel about that?

I mean, that sucks for the horse and all the kids that saw that, but I can't help but laugh at that story!

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's mascot, a black quarterhorse named Double T, died yesterday during a game against New Mexico when he threw his rider, ran across the playing field and slid head-first into a cement wall.

The incident occurred in the third quarter after Tech scored. Rider Amy Smart was guiding the horse on its customary trot around the field when the saddle broke and she fell off.

When the galloping horse reached an exit tunnel, its feet flew out from under it and its head hit the wall. University veterinarian Mark Hellman said the horse apparently died instantly.

Hey guys,

Anyone actually have any suggestions for the writer? This is a great opportunity to help promote Wyoming and it's fans.

Who is tailgating???

Hanging out Friday night downtown?

Cowboy walk???

Anything else fun happening in Laramie that weekend?
