Man, lost in all of that awesome offensive output was how effortless Rothe's 45 yarder looked - and right down the middle. It's crazy how dialed in he's been this year, despite everybody else stumbling at times.

Rothe definitely deserves more recognition. A Perfect 14/14 on field goals for the year and his form is spot on. Certainly a bright spot on a team that has struggled to put points on the board.

Cornpoke, do you think Rothe has a shot at the NFL if he continues on his current trajectory? I am not a kicking expert but he seems to have been improving by leaps and bounds over his time here.

To be honest, no. He doesn't quite have an NFL leg, especially on kickoffs. I do however expect Rothe to be a top candidate for the Groza award this year.

Are you sure he doesn't have the leg? He seems to be able to kick it through the endzone when he wants to - but sometimes that's not what we're going for and he just doesn't put nearly as much into the kick. At least to me, it looks like he has a different motion from kick to kick on kickoffs, but I could just be imagining things... I went back on the DVR a few times when he'd sent one well through the endzone on one kick, only to land it on the 10 on the next one, and the motion was totally different. I guess that could be him showing inconsistency as well.

With that said, he has one more year of getting stronger.

Yeah if he were just showing inconsistency with his motion he wouldn't be 14 for 14 on field goals. You're probably right about it.
