Wyoming at sjsu

Absolutely the worst performance of the season. Glad we could pull it out, but they'd better have this film on loop in the locker room. You have to show up to play EVERY NIGHT, no matter who you're playing.

I'm glad we woke half way up and pulled it out. If we play like that in any other road conference game against any other conference team we probably lose.

I'll take the win better than a loss.

Adams made a statement in the second half he came out ready to play and he basically took over the game.

So all the top teams lost but UMN and us no one gave UNM credit but they looked solid against CSU. SDSU nearly pulled off a miracle come from behind victory against Fresno. This win definitely gives us a nice advantage but we need to figure out why we have no energy to win on the road and figure it out soon.

Trap game. weak team easy to look past or get up for when sandwiched between UNLV and CSU. Take the ugly win and move on

It's a win. I'll take it. But aside from Adams, and until Nance got nailed in the nuts, we had about nothing in the game. That shit NEEDS to change.

Yessir. I can't remember the last time we won a road game that Dave Hall called. We got lucky tonight. Hopefully, the team will learn from this and never come out with that little energy again.

They looked slow and lazy tonight.

Hopefully this was a kick in the pants, so to speak. I was expecting a bit more from him this year, but I think the best is to come from Josh.

Expect everyone's best game against us. We have a target on our back. We will see if our guys are up to the challenge. Ugly ugly ugly game. I did not agree with Shyatt's game plan to slow it down. I know that is our style, but agains this inferior team it is a major equalizer. Minimal possessions for both teams and it allows their lack of depth less of an issue. Glad Riley made his free throws! Go Pokes. Let's go beat those idiots from ftcollins.

It was great we got that win but man did that suck. I really don't like watching our team come out with very little intensity and sleep walking through huge chunks of this game. I thought we came out playing down to the competition and that really bothers me. If we bring that killer defensive intensity out even for the first 10 mins we might put them away right then and there never looking back. Hope we learned our lesson. We don't have enough talent to not bring maximum effort and expect to win in this conference against anyone. :tickedoff:

One more thing. The Pokes need to stay the fuck outta Cali man. We just always play like shit there. Hell that Cal game looks like a masterpiece compared to some of the eggs we've laid at San Jose and Fresno.

I didn't realize it, but Rashad Muhammad is Shabazz Muhammad's little brother. R. Muhammad actually visited UW and decided to go to SJSU, anyway. SJSU's actually got some pretty decent talent based off of recent years' recruiting ratings. They should not be as bad as they are. I don't feel as bad about our performance after digging into their program a bit.

I think he was a verbal commit to Wyo, either that or had Wyo as one of his finalists and decided the Bay Area was a better place to be than the High Plains.
Not the wisest move when one team is coached by Larry Shyatt and the other team is borrowing football players.

Was he one of the players that got suspended and was reinstated right before the Wyoming game?

Yes he was one of the five.

a win is a win, but Riley needs to realize he's a Senior and this is his team to run, take some initative and play ball like you wanna be there, we can't win if you don't score. I know the road is tough, but everyone's right, gotta show up every night and play the game to the best of your ability. I want us to make a difference this year and we've got all the veteran leadership, let's get this done this year....big one on Wed against the sheep at the barn, but we can get it done, play as a team and shoot the ball. Cmon Pokes the season starts now!!

Nope thats not how we work here. We dismiss games where we play great as a fluke but any bad game is a trend that we need to freak out about.

Seriously though, It was a game we probably overlooked a bit, was on the road to a place with dozens of fans so no energy, in a building that was 50 degrees or less because they wouldn't turn the heat in the building on until monday, they just got two of their best players back. All of these were ingrediants for a less than stellar game. All that being said I never beleived we were going to lose even when we were down by our largest deficit. I knew the team would dig deep when it mattered and they did. On to CSU.

I agree. I wasn't too worried, but you never know. Sometimes good teams just have a tough time with a certain bad team. The 2001-02 team had a really tough time with Air Force. We beat them 3 times, but they were the last place team in the league. It took 4 overtimes to beat them in Laramie, we won by 3 at the Academy, and Marcus Bailey had to hit a 3 to force overtime in the MWC tourney. That was almost not even good enough, as Lamoni Yazzie threw up a shot at the buzzer that was more "in" than any miss I've ever seen. It was all the way down, and rolled out somehow.

We won on the road, and the W is all that matters. We've shown this year that we're far better than how we played at SJSU. I'm happy that we were able to overcome a strange game in a strange atmosphere and get a win.
