All speculation but:

Cavs will draft Larry Nance in 2nd round or as free agent?

Adams to play in Europe?

Any thoughts.....

Umm Adams better be coming back for his senior year, and then we can talk about him in the 2016 draft.

But Larry may be drafted, and by the Cavs would be a very cool story, but right now he needs to figure "it" out before anyone even thinks of drafting him.

Larry still has all the ability to get drafted, but he needs to be scoring 20 ppg and grabbing 10 boards per game throughout MWC play and lead us to a conference championship.

If the draft were held today, I don't think Larry would be drafted. He would be signed as a free agent IMO, which could be better for him than a late 2nd round pick as he would have more say in where he goes, contract terms, etc.

Yeah that worked out for Brett huh?

NBA teams don't geneally invest draft picks in 4th year seniors who have had a major knee injury in their past. Not saying I don't think Larry can't or won't make a roster, I think he has a much better chance than Nrett Smith, but I wouldn't expect it to come through the draft.

Larry won't be leaving early however. With their being an NBA D-League, I would be surprised if a team doesn't sign Larry, give him a shot during summer ball, knowing that worst case they can send him to D-League for a year or two. Point is, unless he blows up the rest of the year, I don't see him getting drafted, signed maybe, but not drafted.

Considering Larry is a senior this year...

Although I agree with you calpoke about general recruiting tendencies, in this case it is not what I am hearing about Nance in particular. And from what I'm hearing SA's interest continuied after the knee injury. San Antonio doesn't always go by the rules. Nance fits the type of player they like. My sources could be wrong. So I guess we'll just have to see.

Yeah, BP compared Nance to Brett Smith's chances in getting drafted, thus I began with (obviously) Nance won't be leaving early.

Let's play the who to draft game without knowing who we are looking at. These are current or former college players that played between 1-4 years. Who do you draft? Height is between 6'3 - 6'9 all played in equal conferences.

Now you plan to select someone, one of these four in the first round who do you pick?

If you are just going off of pure stats and not intangibles or anything else I would go with player #1 myself. He seems to be the most productive with the amount of minutes he played.

Player #2 is decent also.

I will add that if larry gets back to where we hope he can, his stats are going to blow up the rest of the season. Should put him at a JR and SR season average of 16/9 which is really comparable to player B (kawhi) 2 seasons.

Nances chances are decent. He needs to get going a little more. You also have to take into account what style of offense they play in. If you saw Nance play anywhere else he'd be THE GUY, getting 60 to 70% or the O production going through him alone. But he plays for a coach that promotes TEAM ball. Everybody is involved. Hence, Nances numbers will reflect that. He is still THE GUY, but his numbers fall based on our style of play. If Nance played on the McClain type teams, then you'd see him putting scoring numbers like Bailey and rebounding numbers like Davis. Intangibles is the key word here. Also Nances numbers would be significantly greater this year, than they are right now, he had two games, Western St. and Regis, where the starters barely played, knocking his "avg" down significantly.

Also let's not get overhyped on Adams just yet. The kid is a baller. But he needs to step up significantly! He's dropped off since the end of last year. If he was consistant with his shots then the rest falls into place, but he needs to be shooting at the level that the young guard from SMU (Nic Moore?) was. That kid has an NBA style touch on his shot, Adams does not. But he has the rest of this year to improve, and he will be THE GUY next year.

Larry's three point shot is kinda regressing. If he plays in the NBA that's something he will have to develop.

It's not like he was much of a 3 point shooter to begin with, truth be told. Down in the paint and inside the arc, he has a pretty complete game, not to mention a very good free throw shooter.
