WYO vs.NMS

Yeah for some reason asking for more diversity in playcalling gets taken as throw it 50 times a game. When I say I want more diversity the playcalling, I mean don't just run it up the middle on first and second down every drive. When we did that for isntance in the 3 drives late in the 2nd quarter we went 3 and out, because it was predictable. When we mixed it up on other drives for instance with the wide receiver sweep on first down for 9 yards, the play action pass on first down for 10 yards, the counter with the rb to the outside in 2nd down for big gain, the easy screen passes over the blitz's for nice gains, that is mixing it up.

I'm fine with being run first, but run first doesn't have to mean run up the middle twice in a row, time and time again, mix it up with runs to the outside and the occasional play action, screens, slants and TE throws. We did that on some drives and those are the drives we had success, not by suddently throwing it every down on those drives, just by mixing up the playcalling a little on those drives. That is what I want more of from Vigen

Amen.

I apologize for misconstruing what you guys are looking for. Ag gave an explanation of what you guys are talking about and that makes some sense. I'm still not too worried about the playcalling though. Not every play will go for 5-10 yards, but that doesn't mean it was a bad play call. Just like an incomplete pass doesn't mean that was the wrong call to make. Players need to execute, whether it's the first time a play was called or the 50th.

One thing we can all agree on, it's much better to argue and nitpick on things after a win :D . Hope we can nitpick after a win next week again!

No need to apologize, man. That's what message boards are for. Voicing opinions!

I was able to catch the game in a bar...I couldn't have been more impressed. TVW did what he needed to do, I was blown away by how great the running game looked, and the defense is just ridiculous. Amazing. I just hope it carries over to next week! I don't really know how good NMSU is this season. Wyoming made them look very, very bad.

Sorry if this was already mentioned, but I loved the NMSU coach’s comment at half time: we’ve got’em right where we want’em. Their defense is overconfident and their offense is worn out from being on the field most of the first half. At least the guy has a sense of humor.

What I think he meant is that he had the Pokes in the locker room, not causing damage right now on the field.

I am kind of excited to watch NMS this week. I want to see what changes they make. I really think they have a good defense which would mean our offense might actually be okay.

I tried telling Gophers fans the NMSU offense would look better this week, but got a bunch of backlash.

Yep, I was right.

This Minnesota game showing me Wyoming's offense needs a lot of work. Defense will keep Wyoming in games but they will wear down unless offense gets a lot better. Minnesota has more points at half than Wyoming had the whole game.

Ugh, well there is hope in the 2nd half.

Yup. Agree completely. We started every drive at mid field and put up 29 pts. I swear Vigen is a spy that csu sent to keep us from glory

NMSU's punter is putting on a show, though! 48 yards average on 8 punts. Shouldn't his leg be tired by now?

I wish he was a cowboy. Zaleski gets like zero hang time on his kicks. Weak leg imo

Two 100 yard rushers for the Gophers. Apparently that's gonna be a thing for the Aggies this year.

Fresno @ Minnesota is going to be an interesting game.
