Alright Cowboy fans! Let's get it started!

Obvious Keys to the game:

Slow the game down and play exceptional defense.

Rebound on the defensive side of the ball. (We all know we won't on offense so just accept it)

Shoot the ball as well as we did against Utah State. Watching that game, we had everything falling. We need to shoot the ball well.

Grabau needs to step up and have a great performance. With Adams out, he must play well for us to win. (or Washington)

Get their big men in foul trouble early. Hard to do at the Pit, but I think we should pound the ball inside with Nance and try to get them in foul trouble. Then hit em from outside with Granberry, Grabau and Washington behind the arc.

Shoot well from the FT line.

I am not a great basketball mind (is it that obvious?), so I am sure there are some things that I am missing, but I am excited this game is on ESPNU and hopefully we can sneak a W!
 
Solid first half, nance needs to get moving he is sluggish and with Williams having an off night Nance could capitalize and give us big points.
 
Down by one at the half, without a starter and our head coach? If we minimize the dumb sh-t, we win this thing...
 
Washington and Cooke look good, although Bentz seems to be struggling a little bit. We need Hankerson or Granberry to step it up in the second half and have Grabau, Nance and Cooke stay out of foul trouble.
 
Not able to watch, just following on Gamecast. Looking like we are getting CRUSHED on the boards....13 total rebounds 3/4 through the game?? wow

A lot of that is because we don't even attempt offensive rebounds...but yeah. An extra rebound or two would greatly help us tonight. Still a good showing, missing Adams and Shyatt.

For the last time- we are one of the best shooting teams in the nation and we play quick-transition defense. Rebounds, other than defensive ones, are practically meaningless. It's like focusing on 3rd down conversions with a team that scores on every possession in football.

I understand that, but when we have 13 defensive rebounds, and New Mexico has 11 offensive rebounds....that's not good. Giving up an offensive rebound results in the same outcome as a turnover. An extra shot for the opponent.

Take away 11 shots from New Mexico in a 4 pt game? Yes please.
 
WHY THE HELL DO WE RUN THE EXACT SAME PLAY AT THE END OF EVERY CLOSE GAME!!! DAMNIT!!! Nance has not been shooting well tonight. I would not have called that. I would have ran a screen play for Grabau. Dangit. Possibly an opportunity missed....
 
DamniT!!!!!!!! What a wasted opportunity. Had the win and gave it away. Its games like this why we won't make a post season worth anything.
