WYO VS. FSU

Ok, so what are the keys to this game? I know nothing about the Dogs. I know we need better guard play and it seems like we need to get FT shooting to get back to what it was during OOC play. What else?

They got blasted by UNM minus Kendall Williams. They are 6-9.....play better at home than on the road. Absolutely have to take them seriously, but that said.....if there is a such thing as a breather in MWC play, its Fresno. I'd be shocked if UW dropped this game. Hell, if they did......this conference slate could become tragic for UW.

Play suffocating defense, run the offense through Washington & Nance--inside/out instead of outside/in--and for God's sake make your free throws!

I think we win this game, but I would definitely like to see us playing to our potential again.
Make free throws. Hit quite a few 3s. Have lots of points in the paint. And out rebound them. Winn by 10 to 20 points.

Agreed. No disrespect to Fresno, but for goodness sake they finished 7th last season in the WAC!!!! I'd be surprised if the Pokes don't win comfortably.

Well it sounds like we have a permanent lineup of Gilmore Grabau Adams Nance and Washington

I'm going on record saying that Adams ends up averaging over 10 points a game by the end of the season.

Leonard and Nance will continue to be the heart and leadership of the team, Gilmore will get his points, some nights there will be about 20 or so, others he may only have 5.

But I think the true freshman Adams is going to step up big, he will make some mistakes but Adams will become the new scorer for this team.

Pokes are going to handle Fresno State easily. This team has gotten rid of the whole "we can not win on the road thing" they are now thinking that "we are better than them so we will win"

We're going to need the bench to start stepping up as conference play goes on. I see Sobey getting more minutes, as well as Haldorson and McManamen. Sellers needs to get up to speed in a hurry or we're going to be in for a long year. We need more big men, and it's looking like Cooke may be in some hot water soon with this Martinez situation.

As far as the Fresno game goes, this is a must win. We're a very good team, but we HAVE to put away teams like Fresno at home and on the road. We're going to need some serious momentum going into Saturday's game, and this is the perfect game to really set us up.

I think we gotta win this with a comfortable margin to get the teams confidence up for the SDSU game.

We need a huge crowd for the game.
Hopefully the press about the Luke situation and the Boise loss doesn't mean that the bandwagon fans are no longer joining us in the AA.

Hopefully the team rallies and sticks together.

A loss to Fresno, which is very possible given that the Pokes have never won there, would be, in my opinion, the start of a slide down. But I think that Nance has to play more agressively, Grabau has to start taking the threes on his open looks, and the defense has to guard the perimiter better. FSU, except for the NM game, has not really been overwhelmed in any of its losses.

agreed more minutes and more quality production, it's really time for Larry Nance to not pass as much and finish at the rim and start scoring 20 a night, it can be done. I think we'll beat them but we can't start out as slow like we did against Nevada, yes it's a must win and there's no way this team is looking forward to Saturdays game, it's gonna be a big one in it's own right, just hope our fans decide to come out and help our team rally and beat a top 15 school and give the MWC something else and better to talk about!!!! GO POKES beat the Dawgs

Here's to a thorough trouncing of the Dogs and a team that comes home united and ready to smoke the Spaz. I look forward to watching in person and doing what I can as a 6th man.

This is just kind of a bump because no one seems to remember there is a game tomorrow.
Luke is gone, we will hear more about it as the news comes out.
Let's get the fans focusing on the positives not the negatives.

I am excited to see how our men respond to the distractions over the past few days. I am so glad that we have this game next and not one of the big 3. Hopefully the guys come out ready to go. I wonder how much more if a distraction all this has been within the confines of the team? I wonder if it had more of an impact on the BSU game than we realize?

Regardless, lets roll tonight Pokes!!!!

GAME DAY!!!

I am friggin stoked! By now this should go without saying but....Wyo2Dal will have the game up right?

a win tonight would be huge. 15-1 is a pretty unreal start. The more games we play and win without Martinez, the more confidence we will get.

I think with the starting 5 we have now we can be fine with absence of Martinez. They know it will be harder but Leonard and Nance will be fine and will know what they gotta do to win. Gilmore and Grabau seem to be fine without him, and Adams seems like he doesn't care who is out there because he is the "man".
I mean that in a non-cocky way, just a confidence way.
They all seem to be able to be fine on their own, and will be able to pick it up.
