wyo @UNT Mean Green

They aren't even close. It is so far beyond comprehension. They could have Josh Allen and Tanner Gentry and Brian Hill and it would not be enough. I am used to a crappy offense. But I never thought our defense would be so slow, tackle so poorly, over pursue, and play the entire game on their heels. WTF happened?

This is Koening level coaching. Waylee will not be back this year or next. Bet me! Burman does not have the vision or talent to bring in anyone competent to run an NCAA program. Mediocrity has been the high bar for Wyoming athletics for the best part of 4 decades now. Let that sink in...Wyoming used to be a respected institution that has slowly been pissed away due to the decisions of a few, but mostly due to a single individual that has maintained the mantra that good enough is good enough. Time for a change. Unfortunately, the powers that be will never make that happen.....
 
I'm so happy I've managed to mostly disconnect my emotional well-being from Wyoming Football. I just wish I could tell myself not to care about the Border War as well.

I feel bad for the players, though. Last year they surprised me and showed grit and determination, and pushed well past the 5-6 wins I expected them to be able to get. This season the same players look utterly lost, and frankly, rather outmatched. All that experience has gone down the drain.

A single player underperforming catastrophically is usually the player's own fault. A whole team with experience underperforming in a catastrophic fashion on the other hand...

Vic’s teams were never this bad, which is saying a lot. A lot. We just got boat raced by North Texas. North Texas.

This is the sad part. Wyoming fans and supporters are the most passionate base out there (in spite of our low numbers....) Losing just a few hard core fans is disasterous. We ALL see it! Why is the administration / legislation so blind? Speaks of "Good Ole boyz" and such. Someone, somewhere has to have to gumption to make a change. For the sake of the University!!! FFS!!!
 
Burman hired Sawvel because the players loved Jay and wouldn't hit the portal if he was hired. After this season, I can't imagine who will stay. We will have to use the 18 million of exit fees just to field a team.

This was my biggest gripe about not opening up the coaching search. Sure you have continuity in the near term, but what if he’s garbage and everyone leaves after a season anyways? Unfortunately, he’s even worse than I could have possibly imagined.
 
North Texas, one of the nation’s top offensive units recorded 534 yards of total offense with 318 yards passing and 216 yards on the ground.

Rather than excuses, Sawvel now appears to simply admit we suck and that he screwed up the program.

If he had an ounce of leadership, he would can the OC on Monday and put in a power run package under center featuring Sam Scott, and, announce he will be taking over the DC role for all intents and purposes and Aaron Bohl goes back to coaching linebackers. It’s our only hope to win a game this year.

I like it! Unfortunately it makes way to much sense...that move would show a level of moxy that I don't believe is there.

The "what if he's garbage?" is always that one that just crushes Wyoming. Vic Koenning, Allen Edwards, and now Sawvell....what a dumpster fire.

I don't think you're wrong but I'm afraid the culture and accountability is lost. I'd support your approach 100% though.
