This season sure isn’t what I had hoped for. While many seem to think a coaching change is necessary, the unfortunate reality is we probably can’t afford the buyout. What’s more unfortunate is that a head coach has to have a sense of arrogance, moxy, whatever you want to call it, and it’s just not evident when you watch our sideline. NOBODY has that air of confidence, including the players. Although we had a lot of returning players, it seems as though all of the vocal leaders are gone and nobody knows how to fill that role. That role isn’t one that just happens. It’s learned by observing a strong, confident coach, teammate, or anyone in a leadership position. Our kids look like the blind leading the blind and their leader just paces up and down the sideline, lost. So hard to watch. I feel bad for the players more than anyone. That said, I will still be in the stands every home game, just like I was in the Vic years. This too shall pass, I just hope it passes quickly. In the new era of college football, this isn’t the best time to be this bad.
