WYO @ UNLV

Sounded like a pretty piss poor performance. Pretty inexcusable to have our best player and lone senior go 0-fer from the field. He scores half his average and we win. And why the hell did we go away from Naughton? He was doing anything he wanted which I suppose means he needs to sit

Biggest thing missing on this team that we have had the luxury of during Shyatt's tenure is a floor leader. There is an obvious lack of a "voice" on the floor that can get the team back on the same page...

Yeah not sure why he always pulls out Naughton. Would like to see Naughton and Moemeka in the game together at some point.

I'm not gonna get too down. I know how Wyoming bball campaigns can be. Long, hard slogs. Team could get ruthless when Adams returns. I really liked the way Liebs played tonight. He needs to play every game like he reads this message board. Still with Adams out, I feel like he's just on the court too much. We had TO's in the clutch. J McMan went MIA for this game. Time to regroup for 2017. Happy New Year to the board as well

We will probably go about .500 in conference.

I think that's about right. We'll be good at home and lose most of the road games. We rely on the 3 and most teams that do struggle on the road. That's a really nothing team we lost to today and they out quicked us. Some posters have talked about our depth being a strength. I don't see it. If Dalton and James are not out there, we really struggle. As for pulling Naughton, until he learns how to make a free throw, he's a liability at the offensive end.

Could it be that everyone thought Edwards was better than he really is? I mean look at the combinations he played. And he left a non-shooter (Liebs) in at the end. UNLV KNEW he wasn't going to take a shot. And Mac seems he couldn't hit his ass with a roll of TP.

I really struggle with the way Edwards runs his lineups. I don't understand his thought process at times. Naughton was manhandling everyone to start the game was pulled at the 4 minute mark and never really came back in. It's mind boggling. And why Kelley sees a single minute in conference play is crazy. He just lacks the skill set. Lieberman had a good game finally. JMac going MIA sucks. As a senior and the supposed leader of this team cannot go missing when we need him most. You never saw Adams take a game off.

JMac not being able to hit the broad side of a barn and not having Louis Adams really hurt today. We had opportunities, but UNLV played a good game. They have done pretty well on their home court minus a couple big losses to Duke and Kansas.

We will finish above .500 in conference IMO...but only by a game or two. If JMac hits a couple shots, makes his free throws and if we had the services of Louis Adams, it could have been a different outcome.

Normally I'd agree with the Lieberman comment but today he was the only one not turning the ball over every time he touched the ball.

I missed the first half, and only caught parts of the second half. I guess I'm not sure if the box score is correct judging by the Lieberman praise because box score has Liebs with a team high 5 turnovers. Looks like he did shoot decent finally although my brother said that his made 3 was a shot that was so far off that it banked in from straightaway.

I did watch the stretch where it felt like JJ threw it away or dribbled it off a defender for a turnover on about 17 straight possessions and yet the box score somehow only has him with 2 turnovers, so again, not sure if its correct or not.

I never saw him bank in a 3. He hit a 3 ball that went right through the net from what I saw.

This isn't that surprising of a result. The team has a ton of versatility, but really lacks that star player or a group of complete players. There aren't any glaring holes that water can shoot through, but everyone has flaws that allow a little water through which can add up when things don't go Wyoming's way. Edwards has done a good job of making up for some of these flaws by playing smart basketball and focusing on the valuable shots. This team can compete with anyone when they play defense, hit the right percentage from 3, and get to the free throw line.

The talk of an at-large was a little silly and now we can get back to reality. This team is playing to get ready for the conference tournament. That's all that matters as an NIT bid is the ceiling if UW fails to win the conference tournament. Hopefully they learn from the loss and move on to the next opponent.

We haven't beat these guys in the T&M in 14 years. We just don't play UNLV very well there. We will beat them by 20 at the AA.

Gotcha, i'll have to ask him about it, he musta been mistaken on who it was.

From the sound of the homer announcers, UNLV is a tale of two teams...a team that is athletic and can gel together and play good, smart ball (like tonight) or can be a team of individuals (like at CSU). We got them at home on a good night for them. Like others have said, we'll get them quite a bit at the Dome of Doom.

Still not a fan of our two most talented/versatile players (Dalton and James) sitting at the beginning of each half -- especially as the Pokes get into MWC play. It was a little frustrating to watch the halftime deficit of six grow to nine in the first few minutes of the 2nd half with those two on the bench. But, whatever.

Besides good defense, you gotta hit your threes if you want to win on the road (Herndon and McMamamen: 0-10).
