Wyo @ South Dakota part 2

Amazing that we managed to beat both the Coyotes and the officials.

I hope Shyatt pursues this one through the proper channels.

A win is a win and i will take it but dang, it doesnt bode well for us for conference play if we can't beat a team like South Dakota easily...We also cannot continue to take nights off against teams "below" us and expect to go very far

That was a very gutsy effort by Wyo.

These type of games are big.

Sure, beating South Dakota twice isn't what is going to get us into the Dance (unless they win out from here), but the fact that Wyo fought back, made the shots they needed, even after letting SD tie it to force OT, and dealing with the refs, AND playing away from Laramie, these type of games show the players that they can do it.

It's nice seeing nance show up and show up big. Cooke is also playing really well lately. If we could get him to not get into foul trouble that would be better but I have been really inmpressed with his rebounding this young season. A win is a win and i'll take it. GO POKES

Hell yeah!

Positives:

Larry Nance finally decided to just abuse a weaker opponent, much like he did late against BHSU. Need to see that consistently. Maybe if he hadn't gotten in foul trouble early it would have been a different game.

Negatives:

Everything else

Let's just pretend this didn't happen.

Hell no, we aren't a finished product like NM or SDSU. We need these type of games.

The team will grow a lot from it.
Now, they just need to get through finals, and get ready for another rough game @ DU.

Exactly. Nance and Cooke will take a lot from this game...

Shyatt said he was T'd when an official said to him, "You need to know one of your players just fouled out," and Shyatt responded, "I'm not supposed to talk to you, I've already been warned."

The refs were a goddamn joke.
I almost had a stroke during this game.

That's life on the road. Now imagine having to deal with that while going up against Alex Kirk, Kendall Williams, and 18,000 fans, because that's what it takes to win in the MWC. We have a long way to go.

Absolutely correct. A win is a win but we have got to be better

As long as Shyatt keeps scheduling these "power house" teams like SD, then the Pokes may make 20 wins and get into the NIT again. This team is no where close to the caliber of the top teams in the MWC. From looking at the roster, this is entirely his team and his recruits. Welcome to mediocrity in basketball for another couple years. No one has been recruited to replace Nance, JR. when he leaves.

Man shut up and go cry somewhere else.
Aren't you the one that thinks DC got screwed and we should fire Shyatt? Yeah, how drunk are you?

No kidding. Shut up. This whole "mediocrity" term is getting thrown around way too much. The basketball team is on the rise and worlds better than 4years ago. No one said rebuilding was going to quick or easy. Shyatt is a great coach and IS turning our program around.

To start with, fuck you! Next, I never said Shyatt should be fired. I said that all the athletic departments should be held to the same standard. Win conference championships and build on the future. If the standard is" competing for conference championships," then Shyatt is way behind the curve.
