With the start of the season tonight I got to thinking. Why not play the jacks every season? But then I also thought, why not make it a neutral site game and play it here in rapid city?
It would be a perfect place to hold the event. A 10000 seat arena. Laramie is 5 hours away and brookings is 5 1/2 hours away. We could divide the arena at mid court so tickets would be even.
A boys/girls doubleheader would be awesome. I know quite a few that would go if this would ever happen.
With that being said its prolly not gonna happen, but it definately would be fun

I can't see many fans traveling 5 hours for that. You might draw a couple fans from NW Wyoming who don't usually come to Laramie. I think you'd have about 2,000 people there tops.

Eh, wouldn't work. 2k is the best you would get, if you would get that. Rapid City ppl know or care little about SDSU. The current SDSU regim is trying to change that. Wyo ppl wouldn't travel 5 hours to see their team play an inferior opponent. For this to work it would have to be a legit rivalry game, and that is likely to never happen. WHy would the schools give away the money of a home game for this? Nope.

It will never happen. Heck, we're havng a hard enough time getting the Jacks to play one lousy game here in SF and that is a guaranteed sellout (see Summit Tourney). The Summit tourney set huge records last year in their first year in Sioux Falls. So much so that SF is now trying to get first round womens NCAA game to come....
