Wyo Soccer Picked 8th

I saw that. Holy shit. Seems the program has been in reverse ever since Tom pissed off - and shit on - Danny (and frankly Moore before that as well).

Well at least it fits right in with all the rest of the non-revenue sports we house in the MWC. Keep those expectations low...it makes your job easier!

Explain..

Well...as far as the program being in reverse...I guess that maybe we should see what things look like in year 4 or 5 of the program under Cuadrado. Last year had some promise, but his first year (with a talent laden squad) was abysmal finishing 1-5-1 in the watered down MWC. Now to be predicted 8th...ouch.

Although it was reported that Anne Moore resigned her position, that wasn't exactly the way it went down from my understanding, but that was 7 years ago, and water under the bridge - although I am not sure Anne is as forgiving as the fanbase. An article from the university regarding how she finished (in a much stronger MWC by the way): "This past season, Wyoming was 9-10 (.474) overall and was 4-3 (.571) in the MWC, tying for third place."

Then, we have Danny Sanchez, her replacement. He was an outstanding choice (from D11 much smaller Metro State), but came to odds with Burman as well, and went on to find a better opportunity at CU. Danny built off Anne's momentum, and really grew the program. All he wanted was the opportunity to compete for MWC championships (budget & facility wise) - but that wasn't going to be "afforded" by the administration. From another article: "Sanchez spent four seasons with the University of Wyoming, compiling a 36-34-11 record. In his final season with the Cowgirls, the team posted a 12-6-4 record, its best in school history, including a 3-1-2 record in Mountain West Conference play for a third-place regular season finish".

I thought Danny just took a better job at CU. lol

Danny simply took a better job nothing more to it than that. CU has a championship winning soccer program it would be like bohl having success and moving on to Nebraska. Cuadrado is not a very good choach. I watched them play many times last year and in every game they had far superior talent than every team they played. He simply got out coached in every game, his tactics were very bad and relied on playing a very direct style with no possession that is normally reserved for teams under 12. They should have finished top 3 in conference if not win it the amount of talent that the team had a year ago.

Even if that were true he would be stupid to turn down CU to stay at Wyoming. I highly doubt he would have stayed regardless.

THIS ^^^ Your are right on with this statement Wyo2dal. I'm getting damn tired of people saying we can't compete with the P5 schools for recruits, coaches, professors, or anyone else. Some people would rather live, play, or work in Wyoming than anywhere else - no matter what.
