Thought this was interesting too. MWC sitting in 5th, but we are actually closer to being first (.0219) than the PAC-12 is to the MWC (.0407).

Hey guys, lobo fan here and really enjoy talking to Wyoming fans and it's been great having your football team down here in Albuquerque for the bowl game. I got to say that your team looks so much more improved from last years team and i think Coach Shyatt is doing a great job on rebuilding his team. So i came on here because i seen that some of you guys think you guys have a chance at the Ncaa tourney, if i had a chance to chose a team to get in the tourney it would be Wyoming, but you guys need to be realistic on your guys chance. Right now i think ONLY Sdsu and Unlv are locks, i also think Unm needs to get back atleast one of the revenge games from them and win one game in the Mwc tourney and they should be in. If you know college basketball Rpi means NOTHING as right now, so whatever your rpi is right now it will change so many times till the end of the season. Currently Csu has a good Rpi and a great win under them, but in all truth they have a ton of work to do and might have to win the Mwc tourney to get in. So back to Wyoming it's going to be long long long shot to get in the Ncaa tourney at this moment in time, you guys are going to have to win the conference tourney to get in. The Mwc is the current #5 conference in the land, but we all know it's only going to get 3 teams in. We will NOT get more then 3 teams in because we all know the east coast bias down here. So congrat's on a great season and we were all rooting for your team hard against Unlv, also you guys are pretty much a lock for the NIT right now and that would be a HUGE accomplishment for you team and your city, it would give you guys a chance to build up the AA like it use to be. You guys have a great future and i will be rooting for you guys except against us.
 
Good post, lobogabe. I don't think any of us here are realistically expecting Wyoming to make it to the tourney. You guys should be in if you keep playing like you are, but I don't think that either CSU or Wyoming will make it to the big dance. If you had told me at the beginning of the season that Wyoming would host an NIT game I would have bet the farm against you. Coach Shy has done a phenomenal job getting this team to the point that it is at right now, and I can't wait to see what he can do after a few seasons!
 
I think most of us would be happy to wind up in the NIT, However we would all be extremely impressed with our Cowboys if they ended up in the NCAA Tourney! We all have high expectations but we all know that we need more wins against quality teams.

You almost got it right but it would be a HUGE accomplishment for the team and the state because this team is about more than Laramie.

I suspect you are right, but last year we could not reasonably hope to have a chance to win the games that would get us into the Dance. This year, a three-game run in Vegas might not be probable, but is not impossible. Last year, there was no chance.

I, too, am glad that New Mexico and UNLV are back where they belong, on the national radar. Now that we are hanging around the top half of the conference, things are how they should be.
