Wyo MW schedule

I think the schedule plays nicely in our favor this year, especially for getting some wins at the end and getting into a groove going into the tourney.

Here is my little break down in terms of toughness. And when I say "easy" I don't mean it will be an easy win, I mean it is the easiest you could ask for in MWC play and will be given a 1.
Road games are never "easy" for the what you would like in terms of easiness so they will be given a 2 at best, and likely a 3 which is a very hard road game.

@ Nevada-2
Vs. NM-3
@ Boise-3
-BYE-
Vs. SJSU-1
@ AFA-2
Vs. Nevada-1
@ Fresno St.-2
Vs. USU-2
@ NM-3
@ UNLV-3
Vs. SDSU-3
@ SJSU-2
Vs. Fresno St.-1
@ CSU-2
Vs. AFA-1
Vs. Boise St.-3
@ USU-2
Vs. CSU-2

Basically it starts off kind of hard, but then opens up nicely for some W's for a while, then has a very brutal stretch, but then generally opens up nicely for some W's at the end of the season with the last 3 of 4 at home and the last 4 of 6 at home.

Pokes really should be .500 this year or it would be a let down.
I am interested to see if Nance can dominate MWC play.

Good list. I'd give @USU a 3. Been to the Spectrum.....they start 7-8 guys at once (home-town cooking like you've never seen). 2 for the team, add 1 for the refs.

Good point on that J-Rod. But I think that with them being in the MWC they won't get that type of favoring. The Spectrum is FUCKING NUTS though. I've been to plenty of games there before and it is bad ass.
I think with them being a part of the MWC they won't be the big fish in the little pond like they have been in their past conferences.

lol Nevermind, forget anything I said BP.....Aggies are currently struggling with Air Force. Maybe USU will be like Boise from 2011....good team, but struggles in first year of greatly increased competition. I told some USU fans on their board that the first season in the MWC for basketball is a bitch.....its harder than people think. This isn't the watered down WAC.

The Spectrum ranks up there with The Pit.....dangerous place to play. But I'll predict it right now....they'll lose a handful of games at home they expect to win.

The loss of Shaw will undoubtedly have a major impact on this Utah State team. Air Force is shooting lights out so far. I don't expect that to continue in the 2nd half. I still expect Utah State to pull this game out.

Damn. BP mentioned above that there is no such thing as an easy win in the MWC.....and boy did Utah State prove that. Welcome to the MWC, Aggies.

A couple thoughts after watching the USU v. Air Force game:

1) I've watched Air Force several times this season and that was the best they have looked all season...by far. I don't think it is something they will sustain, but you never know. There have been some really bad Wyoming teams knock off some very good conference opponents in the past, only to continue to suck in the following weeks. Unfortunate for USU that Air Force was able to put together their best game of the season to welcome them into the conference.

2) Losing Shaw is going to have a bigger impact than I originally thought on USU. Stew Morrill is a tremendous basketball coach, and I expected that to minimize any effects of losing Shaw. This was the first game I've been able to watch USU since they lost Shaw, and it's clear that the loss of his talent is going to change the outcome of this season for USU. This is a big opportunity for teams like UW and CSU to possibly break into the top 5 of the MWC with USU slipping with the loss of Shaw.

watched Utah St get beat by Air Force and those 2 teams are going to give us fits, unfortunately, but I agree we should be ok, once the 3 starts falling again!!! Let's get this one in Reno this weekend!!!!
