WYO Hoops 2014-15 Articles/Notes/Quotes/Pics/Videos

I love watching Nance's reactions to all the baskets in the 2nd half...he was REALLY animated. His sharpshooter celebration after Hank's 3 got me laughing.

Interesting that Nance was invited to the College Dunk Contest. Would think Adams will be a lock next year as well! Great exposure for the Pokes!

Link? This is the first I've heard of that invite. All I've seen so far is the dark horse dunker voting.

Cowboys Coaches Clinic -- Block/Charge technique (WyoSports)

This is the fifth of a season-long series with the University of Wyoming men's basketball program. In this edition, assistant coach Allen Edwards talks about the block/charge rule, how it's changed over the years and how Wyoming teaches it. Video by Robert Gagliardi/WyoSports.

2 things that stick out from those tweets...

1- Nance availability is up to the doctors choice today.
2- We are sticking up-tempo

It should be a good game to get his legs back under him. I don't think anyone would say Fresno scares us down low....We may not need a huge game from Nance to win. GO POKES

I agree. His presence will be big enough.

Well I think Herndon is about to start performing at a high-ish level. Not Nance high, but high enough to help us win some MWC games. He should be a good enough big to get by teams like Fresno. Teams like Utah State? We need Nance, Cooke, and Herndon.

Wyoming's Herndon, McManamen embrace challenge in Nance's absence

After an eight-day layoff, Nance is expected to return for Wyoming's home game against Fresno State on Wednesday, single-handedly shifting the perception of his team.

“Having him back, it brings a different presence to the floor," senior forward Derek Cooke Jr. said. "Teams have to play us differently when we have a guy like Nance. We play with more confidence when we have a guy like Nance on the inside.

"We feel better guarding someone when we know that we have help like that on the inside. And on offense, we know we can feed him.”

Nance’s return still in question (WyoSports.net)

“(Nance) did what we thought. He gained a little weight back on the Nevada trip (UW’s last game was last Tuesday at Nevada),” said Shyatt, who added that Nance participated in workouts in Laramie on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday with the team.

“We definitely think about (getting Nance back), and we’ve been able to hang out and be around him for the first time in a couple of weeks,” Adams said. “Things look hopeful, but it’s not my decision. He’s looked good out there. He sounds better, and he feels better.

“Regardless if we have him or not, we’re going to prepare the same way and take care of business the same way.”

Tough D and a "tweaked" offense designed to run a little more. Seems to me this can carry us deep into the MWC tourney, and hopefully we'll take it dancing after that. If we play well, I don't think Fresno is much of a test for it; UNLV might be. I don't know that we want to get into a runfest with them. I think we have 4 games to fine tune how to run, Shyatt style. Sure is fun to watch.

I wonder whether Papa Shy planned this amped up offense all along?
