I am wrong? I thought it was illegal for a defender to kick the ball away from the ball carrier. It happened a few years ago against AFA, and again today, the defender kicked the ball away from Smith. I thought that was illegal but the last and only 2 times I have seen it, the officials let it go and it hurt UW. Should this be a tactic our defense should employ?

Seriously, if anyone has it recorded or watches it tonight on the Mtn, the defender is on his back and thrusts his leg up in the air and the bottom of his cleat pops the ball loose. I only caught it after watching recording in slow motion.

Against AFA I think it was a leg whip by a defender on D-Mo or Wynel Seldom back by our endzone. In both cases the fumble stood. I don't think this fumble was reviewed but I think the AFA fumble was reviewed and stood. Back then I think they focused on when the ball came loose instead of how.

I guess that's football, but I would like clarification on the rule if anyone knows.
