Wyo @ Boise

Damn good win but does the defense deserve credit for the low scoring game or was Boise just way off? We'll never get credit for being the defense that held them to 30 under their average but I think that was a solid defensive effort by the pokes.

We hold EVERYONE under their average, but never get any credit.

Case in point:

Well, at least that cured my constipation. But the score could have been higher if not for the stupid ass givaways the Pokes had early on.

From what I saw, we played some great defense, really took BSU out of their game. But for all his effort on defense, Adams did his best to make up for it on the offensive end...

Yes! Yes! Yes! This team didn't play their best game, but just kept scratching & clawing and pulled it out at the end. Way to go Pokes!!

I don't remember Cooke playing in the second half. Granberry might have played his way into the starting lineup.
Granberry and Hankerson both had a good game. They really need to play with less trepidation. We've got Adams playing offense like his shoelaces are burning, while the two brick houses practice that stupid Brazilian non-contact sport...

Well one thing we know about this team is that we will never get blown out by anyone. I thought if we were going to get blown out this year it would either be at Ohio St. or a game like tonight playing at Boise St. coming off an emotional loss to New Mexico and Boise St. coming off of a loss and needing a win at home but we were able to actually win the game. Maybe this will be the game that turns our season around and gets us over the hump with confidence to close out a game.

Wyoming has been in every game this year. Only Ohio St. pulled away in the last 5 to 7 minutes. We will be in every game in conference as there isn't a team that can pull away from us. We will have to see how many we can win though. If Sobey and Granberry can keep playing like they have the last couple of games we might have a winning conference record or atleast .500 which would be a lot better than the last two years.

Also note that our two losses are to teams that are undefeated in conference still. New Mexico is struggling with San Jose St. right now though.

Boise played like crap, and Thompson was out.....but that doesn't matter. As long as Boise doesn't nosedive from here on out, this will be seen as a great win. Big confidence-booster going forward.

Part of the reason Boise played like crap was because of Wyoming's defense tonight. They actually played about the best defense I have seen from them all season. Especially the last 5 minutes of the game.

Shyatt's defense and the hard work of the team on defense overcame all the errors and turnovers for this win.

Your big prediction of a blowout took a dump. Of course BSUplayed like crap! Had nothing to do with our defense though, right?

I didn't predict a blowout....I said the expectation Vegas-wise going in was that Boise would be a sizable favorite. They were at -10.5....that's about what being a 20-point underdog in football would be like. Never said the Pokes would get beat down....only that it was unlikely they do what they did tonight. Obviously proved me wrong. Time will tell whether it was Wyoming's great play that prevailed, or Boise being overrated. Like I said....Its a great win for Wyoming.....as long as the Broncos don't unravel from here on out. That's their 2nd bad loss at home this season.

Great for the Pokes though.....they needed that confidence boost.

So Keonta Vernon didn't make the trip. Couple interesting tweets: https://twitter.com/TheRealKeontaV" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
