Wyo @ AFA

+10. Unlike many of the blue hairs and those who don't believe CDC stood up for his team and principals, I actually donated more money to the University. I am former Army...I have NO respect for TC nor Air Force. Many of us army guys actually wonder, is AF even a branch of the service?

Total Randy Marsh moment (was it beav who said that before?). It reminded me of the South Park Bat Dad episode. I started liking DC more after the rant.

Good to see I'm not the only one who loved the rant, gotta have a coach willing to go fight for his guys!

As an Air Force member who has deployed and worked with the Army...we are a legit branch that has our distinct jobs. The different jobs require different lifestyles. Don't hate us because you envy us. Haha

I actually loved my deployment and assignment working with the Army. They are less needy/picky than some AF guys.

Anyways...wear whatever uniforms you want, DC. These ones are cool. Show off that you have more pride and greater morals and greater ethics than Troy by playing a good clean game...and smoking the shit out of the Falcons!

Weren't you the one that said it was embarrasing?
Hell no lol. I've loved it since the moment I heard about it.

When wyonation was bashing him last season after it I kept my mouth shut because I didn't want to get bashed, but since some time has passed I will openly say that it was awesome and I loved it lol.

Guess it was someone else. But that rant pretty much divided the forums here for awhile. Me, I liked too, and could not blame him either, as I would have blown up too.

Ultimately, the best revenge Wyoming can get Saturday night is beating this Air Force team. CDC should shake the man's hand at midfield...take the high road....and celebrate in the visitors locker room. AFA is in desperation mode....beating them would be more than enough revenge towards Mr. Howdy Doody. I guarantee you he won't have anything to smile about this time.

That's more like it

I hope after Wyo creams them, DC goes to mid-field and as they are shaking hands DC screams "Whooo! Go to your lockerroom fly boy! Whooo!"

I don't want to step on wyo2dal's toes.... or anyone else's... or a start a thread... but I have a flash stream for the game... lag10 23
Go pokes!
I think the only issue Wyo2dal ever had (other than his stream cutting part way through the 3rd quarter against Nebraska) was when he had 5000 (if I remember right) viewers on one of his streams watching the Wyoming @ Texas game last year. A lot of trolls, but they were quickly quieted when it was threatened that Wyo2dal would cut the link.

air force was my second favorite team until last years game. I still have respect for the cadets and would be proud if my son went to school there, but no longer root for them.

I liked how they played the BCS teams super toUgh. The smirk changed things for me.

I'm curious as to how many of you think that Dietz faking the injury actually gave Air Force any sort of advantage.

If the idea was that it gave Air Force more time to diagram a play, I would argue that the extra time was actually a bigger benefit for the Poke defense. At the very least, its a neutral move as both teams gain extra time to fine tune their strategy for the next play.

I've heard some voice the opinion that it allowed Air Force backup QB, Kale Pearson, to warm up before coming into the game after Dietz was forced off the field. I guess that's true, but are people seriously arguing that facing a warmed up BACKUP quarterback was a major advantage for Air Force. Personally, I think the fact that Dietz was forced off the field because his helmet came off provided the Pokes with a much larger advantage than did the warm up time for Pearson.

Personally, I don't think the faked injury had any effect on the outcome of that game. That being said, if the Pokes find some motivation out of it, then more power to them. If Wyoming is for real this year, they are at least 2 touchdowns better than this Air Force squad...even on the road. As I've said before, this Air Force team is going to prove to the weakest its been in quite some time by the end of the season. This would be a bad loss for the Pokes in retrospect.

Gameday: Air Force vs Wyoming-Time to put up or shut up

Short and sweet, it's time to remember or forget last years meeting with Wyoming, strap yourself into your jet and kickoff this game. For those that do not remember, last year's game was a come from behind a 3-20 deficit win for Air Force which culminated in the victory and some words by Wyoming's coach Christensen walking off the field directed at AF's coach Calhoun that should not be heard by your children.

Local newspapers suggest this is something that is over, forgotten and is not part of today's game. But if you listen to Wyoming players comments it is far from forgotten. They are using this as motivation for the game saying they 'respect their coach for sticking up for them' suggesting that AF did something wrong in the game. AF players are using this for motivation also, knowing that nothing happened on the field last year.

Fast forward one year and you have two teams on different paths coming into this game. Wyoming 2-1 with a close loss to Nebraska and wins over Idaho and UNC while AF won their opener vs Colgate but then two blowout losses to Utah State and Boise State. First MWC game for Wyoming while AF sits 0-2 in conference play. Wyoming media says all Cowboys are healthy and will play although starting QB and LB were hurt last week. Air Force loses McArthur due to concussion and have two others that have broken fingers that may/may not see playing time.

Simple to do list for Air Force to be in this game otherwise it will resemble the last two games:

1) Stop and/or slow down Wyoming's dual threat QB Smith. He is versatile with both the pass and the run. He played against AF as a freshman but sat out last year's game due to injury. He is in the same mold as the USU and BSU QB's. We don't stop him then it's going to be a long night.

2) Guard the flat and the bubble pass. Even in the FSU vs BSU game last night, both teams use this short pass time and time again and the defenses were not able to stop either offense from averaging 7+ yds/pass with a total of 110 passes thrown...wow. AF cannot play as soft as they have been playing or this trend will show up tonight.

3) Find a way to pressure the QB. Must be done.

4) Assignment football

5) AF tailbacks must get involved on the offense

6) AF receivers must catch the ball.

7) AF offense must have sustained drives and keep Wyoming QB off the field and give the AF defense rest.

8) Lastly, whatever fans will actually make this game, they need to be loud along with the cadet wing. Wyoming fans will travel well to this game and they will make noise for their team. We cannot let them make this a home game for Wyoming.

(Conversely: If Wyoming can do all the things that AF needs to stop, then it will be a long night).

Good luck and GO FALCONS

We all have selective memories of course, but what I remember is the Cowboy defense had stuffed AF on successive plays and definitely had momentum on their side. The fake injury took that away.
