WTF happened to our BIG cannon?

I'm not sure what's going on. Perhaps a problem with the old cannon? I highly doubt that with the kind of pride the ROTC has. I will be disappointed if the athletic department caved into pressure to remove it because it was "too loud"

somebody needs to send a note to Burman and get that howitizer back!!! I noticed it was a bit lacking this game

Thing used to make fans from other teams soil themselves. Now, may as well not even have it. Maybe the "tree-happy" people were worried about the trees? Wait until our cool flames start a forest fire...uh oh!

I asked Kevin McKinney in an email and he replied that they had to stop shooting the big gun because the concussion was damaging the video board. Given how many times the Pokes are going to score this year, I guess they're right to be worried. I suggested they do as Virginia Tech does and shoot the cannon from an adjacent practice field. Anyway, that's the reason.

wtf?

move it to the south end then

I was thinking put it on the top of the wilcatter suites and fill it full of confetti. Make a big boom and a big mess for each score

No shit? After all these years of watching Wyoming football...

1. Our scoreboard / videoboard has turned into a pussy. Not sure I buy that one.
2. We love lightening delays (This never happened until that NM game a few years ago. Never). And now twice.

did he say that it's a different cannon or just a lighter load?

I didn't ask. Perhaps someone on here will take a closer look and report back. I'm sure they'll be plenty of opportunities to observe.

I didn't get into details, but electronic components can be somewhat fragile, particularly with repeated bombardment. I think just moving the cannon to the south, where it used to be, would be the solution -- unless they moved it from there because the old folks home was getting damaged.

Ah Wyoming. Maybe "they" are waiting to burn the trees down in that south endzone, to make room for the original cannon. LMAO.

On a windy day in October...after scoring a touchdown, Wyoming finds a new home for their old cannon:
