Branch and Company continues to secure Top-25 recruiting classes, and the year 2026 seems to follow suit. Yesterday, they welcomed Dom Wilson, a US Open U17 71 Kg Greco Champion, into their ranks. He is coached by former Olympian Andy Hrovat out of Texas.
Dom is set to join the Cowboys for the 2026-27 season; after consulting the Oracle (Google), 71 Kg converts to 157. He is scheduled to compete next week in Greece as a member of Team USA at the World Championship. His competition is expected to commence on July 29; I will plan to provide updates and links as they become available.
The significance of this signing for the program cannot be overstated. The Northern Michigan Wildcats have a reputation for producing exceptional Greco wrestlers, but the addition of a new facility along with elite talents like Dom Wilson in Greco and Christian Carroll in Freestyle could significantly enhance the Wyoming Regional Training Center. Coach Schroder has accepted the position of assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Kent State. He previously coached with their new head coach, Josh Moore, and at Cleveland State. We extend our best wishes to him, as he has learned from the best recruiter, Coach Ford. Wyoming is now in search of a lightweight coach.
