Wrestling Conference: Big12 or Pac12?

I certainly don't know anything about the dynamics of wrestling, but this really doesn't make much sense to me for SDSU and NDSU. Looking at some NDSU message boards, those fans don't seem to like this either.
The NCAA allocations is where it gets weird. The Big12 as it stands now is still strong enough to be the second best wrestling conference and pick up the majority of allocations. The PAC historically you had to win your weight at conference to get an auto bid where now they may get 2 allocations per weight.

The Big12 and B1G will continue in the 4-8 per weight trend depending on the year. Coach Branch has spoken at length about how being in the Big12 is a recruiting advantage. Now if the PAC12 picks up steam this year that may change.

Loser’s mentality to leave a conference because of apparent concern of competition level. There is no benefit from a travel standpoint for this move. But this move really hurts Wyoming from a travel perspective because it now loses all of its bussing options from a conference opponent. Might force Wyoming’s hand, IDK.

Maybe, you would like to think that Wyoming and AF would continue to schedule a dual as it would save travel for both teams. Wyoming and Oregon State continue to wrestle each other. I could careless if our team ever steps foot in Greeley again. SDSU and NDSU were good duals and you could do both in a single trip. I don't think they are busing to those locations anymore.

We may actually see different Big12 teams in Laramie vice the same ones year in and year out or this opens up newer teams to Laramie outside the Big12. They have recruited Ohio well so why not some MAC or SOCON teams to Laramie

It’s silly not to have an annual dual with both Air Force and Northern Colorado. That’s big money savings. Schools like Wyoming shouldn’t be increasing travel costs of Olympic sports at all in this new environment. I’m not sure how both those annual duals continue to exist in different conferences.

I am hearing it might have something to do with revenue sharing. Big xii said all members and affiliates have to do revenue sharing. Do UNC, SDSU and NDSU do that?
