Wrestling: Brackets

I mean if the expectations at the Big 12s was for all these 7-8 seed guys simply to lose and perform to their seed, then sure we accomplished that.

I guess I am just in the minority hoping at least one guy will outperform their seed when Wyoming had so few top seeds to begin with and when we weren’t facing really anyone at the level of talent we saw when Penn State came to town. .

Still slight hope in the wrestlebacks I guess.
 
1st round Wrestleback updates:
Carroll wins 16-7 over UVU wrestler
Saenz finishes 0-2 after falling 9-6 in the wrestleback (season over)
Sefton Douglass finishes 0-2 after being teched 18-3 in the wrestleback (season over)

2nd Round Wrestleback Updates:
Luke Willochell loses 11-2 to Iowa State wrestler to finish 1-2 (season probably over)



I am hoping this simply isn't everyone's 'expectation.'

Jared Hill 5-2 win over Northern Iowa wrestler
Sloan Swann 4-1 win over UVU wrestler
Riley Davis 5-1 win over Cal Baptist wrestler

Semi-Finals
Neitenbach 5-1 win over Dean from Iowa State to advance to Big 12 Finals!!
Novak 5-2 win over Merrill from Okie State to advance to Big 12 Finals!!

Carroll v. Mora of OU only match left.


What a post tornado delay run as the team moved from 10th place to 5th place!
 
Wildest Stat:

Jax Forrest was wrestling in high school tournaments before January (he graduated and enrolled early).

He just teched his way to the Big 12 finals with his longest match being only 3:30 seconds! Unreal!
