Just a recap on the day:
Luke Willochell: 0-2 drawing Seidel first round was tough and then having to face Van Dee of Nebraska in first round of wrestlebacks was unfortunate falling in SV. Lots of potential with him.
Gabe Willochell: 1-1 losing a tough one in the first match did him no favors. He got the win in first round of wrestlebacks but now has a very tough 6 seed next who was upset.
Riley Davis: 1-2 he won a pigtail in the wrestlebacks so that is team points
Neitenbach: 2-0 and looked great. Faces NCAA finalist from last year McEnelly from Minnesota. That’s a tall task in the quarters but anything can happen on the Friday of the NCAAs.
Novak: 2-0 with 2 pins. Absolute dominance. Faces the 29 seed from Arizona State who came into the NCAAs with a 9-9 record. Couldn’t hope for a better draw in the quarters. Get it done!! Win that and it is likely the undefeated Josh Barr from Penn State in the semifinals.
Carroll: 1-1. Uninspiring first match. Throw to a pin in the first period of his second match. What Carroll shows up tomorrow? Win his next match and likely a re-match with Mirasola who he beat in the dual. Complete wild card.
7 wins, including 3 pins, on Day 1 is a good showing for sure! Tomorrow is the big day!!

Gabe Willochell with the big win over the #6 seed at 149! He will face Rathjen of UNI next so the whole who should have been a higher seed at the Big 12s can be put to rest.

Eddie loses 8-6 to McEnelly. He wrestled well but gave up a late takedown in the 2nd period that was the difference.

Novak is a two time All-American! Dominating 17-5 win. Will face undefeated Josh Barr in the semi-finals who won by technical fall 19-3 in the 2nd period.

Carroll beats the Virginia Tech opponent 17-8 and will face Mirasola of Penn State next.

Willochell with an impressive 11-1 win over Rathjen!!! He goes to 3-1.
Willochell will face 8 seed Swiderski of Oklahoma State next in the blood round. If he wins, he is an All-American.

Carroll will Face 9 seed Mirasola next. Carroll beat Mirasola in the dual in Laramie.
Beat Mirasola and he would face 27 seed Catka in the Blood Round to be come an All-American!

Neitenbach will face the winner of the 9 (Moore of Illinois) and 16 seeds (Rogers of Lehigh) in the Blood Round. Needs to win to become an All-American.

Legit chance for 4 All-Americans tonight!!! Willochell, Neitenbach and Carroll in the Blood Round (win and they are AA). Novak in the Semi-Finals and can finish no worse than 6th.
