All the way from ILL to watch his future team play a spring game. Me likey :thumb:

I give the new staff full credit for this kid's excitement. They're doing all the right things so far. I hope it translates into wins and a program we can be proud of!

Looks like Vega is heading down, too.

@dvega32: First of many drives to laramie! #GoWyo
I give this Vega kid credit. Hell he's driving into laramie. Thats hardcore.

Call me the new sunshine pumper, but many GOOD things are a coming Cowboy way! I feel this shit in my bone's. All these new Cowboy's have a chip on their shoulders. This won't be the best class Bohl and company bring into Laramie, but they are ready to prove the naysayers wrong... I feel this...deep down... and yes i've been drinking....

Times like this, I wished that there were still NCAA football games being made. NCAA 14 does have improvements, but you have to do a LOT of editing to go from DC and his spread "offense" (sack, tackle for loss, sack is hard to call an offense) to Bohl's more pro style smashmouth offense. It had so much potential with the new gen of consoles out, but instead of letting the customers create the players (or hitting a randomize option), they scrapped the whole thing.

That said, there is a satisfaction of running the ball down Nebraska's throat for 6 yards a pop in 14.

I don't want to be a downer, but tons of recruits come to Laramie pumped up, then next thing you know they're transferring because they're "homesick". I hope I'm wrong

Others though, love it. There's always give and take.

Anyone that grew up in a small town loves Laramie, Anyone that grew up in city life and enjoyed it gets homesick. some stick it out and some aren't able to that is really what makes recruiting for UW so hard.

Who will be the first here to overreact?

Does he really think he'll never be doing it again? The kid is committed to play here. I imagine he'll be making that drive quite a bit over the next 4-5 years.

Last I checked, there's this new invention called airplanes...

He may have been talking about the whirlwind trip...drive all day, be there one day, then drive all day back. That kind of trip is very taxing. When he goes home over the next 4-5 years, they more than likely won't be for a one day stay.

Even if he's flying, it's still a 2 1/2 hour drive to the nearest major airport. Not nearly as bad as driving to Illinois, but still...

Not nearly as bad? 134 miles compared to 946. Understatement of the year.

I would never drive 946 miles if I could fly. Add up the gas money and red bulls required to make that drive and It would easily be cheaper to fly Frontier airlines. Who also sponsers Wyoming football.

The never do it again part was round trip, Once he is here he only has to go home on holidays and only if he wants. I'm more worried about the town driving him insane not the trip.
