Would you stay or would you go?

Let's say the PSU thing happened at Wyoming. You are a student athlete and have the opportunity to attend another university. Would you transfer out? What factors would weigh into your decision?

Do you think your answer now is different than what it would have been then?

snowflake, are you familiar at all with the black 14?

truth is...i have no idea what i would do in that situation and i'm glad i won't be

but thanks for putting that perspective on it...i mean if it were me @ wyo i'm not sure what would happen considering that i would probably rather play at a shell of wyoming than any other program

I've been thinking about it a lot. I think there are different things that happen to you in college and that's a huge decision to make. I went to OU initially because I love the school, but I could've done my major anywhere when I started. But... Because things change, I ended up with a major only offered in three colleges in Oklahoma, and OU is the only school who offered my Masters program. I stayed for reasons other than why I initially applied.

I'm wondering what these kids are taking into account when making this decision, and what we as adults would have done… Or think we would have been.

Only a little bit familiar.
Before the Black 14 - Wyoming had, almost every year, one of the nation's best defenses and regularly was at or near the top of the original WAC amd regularly went to Bowls (this was back when there was only a few bowl games).

After the Black 14 - Wyoming had 1 winning season in about 20 years, until Paul Roach took over the reigns and got us back to winning again. And this was without any NCAA infractions.

isn't that the scary part

Yep.....Wyokie is forever telling me that he fells if B-14 hadn't happened, Wyoming would have been Nebraska before Nebraska. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.....

As for your question Snowflake, that's a tough one. Being loyal and staying would be a very honorable thing, but comes with great sacrifice too. This Silas Redd kid must feel awful. Wants to stay and remain loyal, but would have to pass up a likely national championship and two years in So. Cal? Tough....

I'd be loyal to Wyoming and stay. As a player I would not have known about those criminal acts and the program would need good people.
Penn State has it easier than many outlets are reporting it to be. Their players are still going to be on major television broadcasts and the players get to keep their scholarships. The SMU death penalty banned that program from TV and the players lost their scholarships and teams like Penn State came in to recruit those SMU players of the past. I'd like to say more about Joe Pa and his years at PSU.

yeah...players don't really need to worry about exposure as much as they do

those nfl scouts know what they're looking for and if you're it they'll find you
