The play calling the entire game sucked. The play calling the entire season has sucked. Why is it that after 8 games on every single first down we still try to run a sweep from 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage or throw the ball sideways 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage. We always lose yards on those plays, and we always lose yards on every first down.
The only decent drive was when we actually started throwing past the line of scrimmage. Is our coaching staff really that stupid that they can't figure out how to call quick plays (to account for poor blocking), but that don't require a running back or reciever to run 5 yards after getting the ball just to get to the line of scrimmage. How hard is it to go to some short pass plays that take less than 2 seconds to develop but are on front of the line or scrimmage so at least if the ball is caught we don't lose yards.
Absolutely embarrassing to watch our team. Even an ok offense and we win this game. It wouldn't suprise me if the only game left we win is against UNM, unless we start actually calling some plays that give our offense a chance to get a first down.
